Indian Women's Kabaddi Team probables list announce for Asian Games 2026

India won the gold medal in women’s kabaddi at the Asian Games 2022.
The Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI) has announced an expanded list of probables for the Indian Women’s Kabaddi Team ahead of the 2026 Asian Games.
The selected players will now enter a preparatory training programme, where their performance, fitness levels, and tactical adaptability will be assessed before the squad is narrowed down. A final 14-member team will be selected to represent India at the continental event.
The Indian Women’s Kabaddi Team has been one of the most dominant forces in the history of the Asian Games. They clinched gold medals in 2010 and 2014, establishing themselves as the team to beat on the continental stage.
Although they missed out on the top spot in 2018, settling for silver, the team made a strong comeback in the 2022 edition by reclaiming the gold medal in a closely fought final. Their consistent podium finishes underline India’s depth and legacy in the women’s game.
With high expectations once again, India will aim to continue their dominance when the Asian Games 2026 take place in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, from September 19 to October 4. However, they will continue to face a threat from the Iranian team, who are among the medal contenders this year.
