List of all Iran men's kabaddi players selected for 2nd national coaching camp for Asian Games 2026

The kabaddi event at the Asian Games 2026 is scheduled to be held from September 21 to 26.

The Asian Games 2026 will begin soon, and preparations for all the events have started. Since this sport is primarily popular in Asian countries, the Asian Games hold significance equal to that of the World Cup; this is why it is one of the most prestigious tournaments for Kabaddi players from Asian nations.

The sport was first played as a medal event at the 1990 Asian Games. Ever since then, India have dominated the event, winning the gold medal a record 11 times, including eight times in men’s kabaddi. The only team to challenge India‘s dominance in the history of the Asian Games is the Iran national kabaddi team.

Iran won their first medal at the Asian Games in 2010, claiming silver after losing to India in the final. They won another silver medal at the 2014 Asian Games after losing another close final to India. However, their fortunes changed when they defeated their arch-rival, the Indian team, in the semi-final of the 2018 Asian Games.

Subsequently, they made history by defeating South Korea in the final, becoming the only team other than India to win the gold medal. They won another silver medal at the 2022 Asian Games as the Indian team defeated them again in a closely fought match.

The team is eager to win another gold medal at the Asian Games. On that note, let’s have a look at the list of all Iran men’s players selected for the 2nd national coaching camp for the 2026 Asian Games.

Kabaddi is old, but not older than my love for it. I am still a rookie, but kabaddi is one thing I have been following passionately since my childhood. I don't miss any matches of the league and I regularly follow domestic and international tournaments as well.
