Asian Games 2026 Men's Kabaddi Points Table: India qualified for semi-finals after Day 3
India and Thailand topped their respective groups after Day 3.
The competition at the Asian Games 2026 is getting more interesting day by day. The third day of the men’s kabaddi event was even more thrilling than the first two days. The semi-final qualification scenarios changed drastically from the previous day.
To qualify for the semi-finals, teams must finish in the top two of their respective groups. In the first match of the day, Chinese Taipei defeated the Republic of Korea 43-37, ending Korea’s medal-winning hopes.
Later, Iran registered a comfortable win over Malaysia 67-33, and then the Indian men’s kabaddi team defeated Bangladesh 48-25 to secure their place in the semi-finals.
In the evening session, Thailand defeated Pakistan 48-45, almost confirming their semi-final spot, putting them on track for their first-ever Asian Games medal in kabaddi.
Then, in the last match of the day, Chinese Taipei defeated Japan in a closely fought contest 34-30, decreasing the hosts’ hopes of making the semi-finals.

Group A Points Table
India continue to lead Group A after winning all three of their matches so far and confirming their place in the semi-finals of the tournament. With this, they have also ensured that they will go home with at least a medal. However, they will be aiming for the gold medal.
Chinese Taipei are in second place after India, having secured two wins in three matches. They won both matches on Day 3 and have suddenly changed the Group A points table scenario.
Bangladesh have dropped to third place with two wins in four games. Now, they have no matches left, and all their hopes of qualifying hinge on other teams’ performance.
Japan are in fourth place, having secured one win in three matches. They lost to Chinese Taipei on Day 3; however, their hopes of reaching the semi-finals are still alive. At the bottom of Group A are South Korea, with no wins in three games. They have been officially eliminated from the semi-finals race.
Group B Points Table
Group B points table has changed drastically after Day 3. Thailand are currently at the top of the table with three wins in three games. They have shown a great brand of kabaddi at these Asian Games and defeated Pakistan on Day 3. However, even at this stage, they have not officially qualified for the semi-finals.
Iran are in second place behind them, having secured two wins in two matches. They are favourites to top the table, with two more games remaining.
Pakistan have fallen to third place from first after a poor performance against Thailand on Day 3, and their hopes of qualifying for the semi-finals now depend on their last league match and Thailand’s final group-stage game.
Nepal and Malaysia are in fourth and fifth place, having failed to win any of their three matches. Both teams are officially out of the semi-finals race.
When will the semi-finals of the kabaddi event at the Asian Games 2026 take place?
The Kabaddi semi-finals are scheduled for Friday, September 25, 2026.
