Asian Games 2026 Men's Kabaddi Points Table: India rose to top of their group after Day 2
India and Pakistan topped their respective groups after Day 2.
Day 2 of the kabaddi event at the Asian Games 2026 was more exciting than the first. The day saw even more entertaining and thrilling moments.
In the first match of the day, the Pakistan team faced Nepal and defeated them 58-43. This was Pakistan’s second win and Nepal’s second defeat at these Asian Games.
India played the second match of the day and secured an easy 63-31 victory. Despite a strong performance by veteran player Jang Kun Lee, this win handed South Korea their second defeat of the tournament.
Thailand also registered their second victory, defeating Malaysia 65-23. In the evening session, Japan shocked everyone by defeating Bangladesh 40-37 in a closely fought match.
In the last game of the day, one of the favourites for the gold medal, the Iran kabaddi team, started their campaign with a boost, defeating Nepal 76-23.

Group A Points Table
India have moved to the top of the Group A points table after defeating South Korea 63-31. They have now won two of two games and comfortably sit at the top of the table.
Behind them are Bangladesh with two wins in three games. Bangladesh lost to Japan on Day 2, and now they have only one match left, against favourites for the gold, India.
Japan are in third place with one win in two matches. They defeated Bangladesh on Day 2 and will try to win their remaining matches to qualify for the semi-finals. Chinese Taipei are in fourth place in Group A after losing their first match.
At the bottom of the table are the 2018 Asian Games silver medallists, the Republic of Korea. They have lost both their matches so far, and their chance of making the top two is now very slim.
Group B Points Table
After the victory over Nepal, Pakistan have solidified their top position in the Group B points table. Behind them are Thailand, who have also shown a good brand of kabaddi. They have also won both their matches.
The 2018 Asian Games gold medallists, the Iran kabaddi team, are currently in third position with one win in one game. They played their first match on Day 2 and easily defeated Nepal.
Nepal are behind them in fourth place with zero wins in three games. They are now officially out of the tournament and won’t qualify for the semi-finals.
At the bottom of the table are Malaysia, also with zero wins in two games. The table is still open, and any two teams can qualify for the semi-finals at this moment.
