Where is the title-winning Patna Pirates squad from PKL season 4 now?

The outfit won its second consecutive title back during the fourth edition of the league.

The Patna Pirates is the most successful team in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL). In the history of the competition. They have won three titles, which is the most for any franchise. They are the only team to achieve this feat which makes them the most decorated franchise in the PKL yet. Some major players have performed central roles in helping the team achieve these milestones. 

In the fourth season of the competition, the Pirates defeated Jaipur Pink Panthers to lift their second consecutive title, the first team to do so. Here are the players wo helped the Patna Pirates script history and where they are now.

Pardeep Narwal

Just like the third season, Pardeep Narwal played a key role in helping the Patna Pirates win the fourth season’s PKL title. During that campaign, he scored 116 points in 16 matches. He scored 16 points in the final, which was the most by any individual. He will be seen playing for UP Yoddha in the upcoming season of the PKL.

Bajirao Hodage

Hodage was part of the Bengal Warriors for the first three seasons and then shifted to the Patna Pirates during the fourth edition. He scored 22 points and made a great impression in defence. He was the third-highest tackle points scorer from the team. Bajirao did not score a point in the final and he will not be seen playing in the upcoming PKL edition.

Kuldeep Singh

Kuldeep is one of the few players who has won the PKL title several times. He was part of the title-winning teams such as the Jaipur Pink Panthers in season one and the Patna Pirates in seasons three and four. Kuldeep scored nine points in 15 matches and also managed three points in the final. He last played in the league for Patna Pirates in 2016 before hanging up his boots.

Surjeet Singh

Surjeet was also a key figure in the title-winning Patna Pirates squad. However, he did not play to his usual standards in the final. Singh made five raids in total and only scored two raid points in the process. From those, there was one touch point and one bonus point. Tamil Thalaivas have roped him in ahead of season eight of the PKL. 

Rajesh Mondal

Rajesh Mondal was part of the Patna Pirates setup in both seasons three and four of the PKL. He scored 57 raid points in 15 matches during the fourth edition but did not perform well during the final. Mondal scored one point from nine raid attempts. Mondal was picked up by the Puneri Paltan in the fifth season and he hung up his boots after season 6.

Hadi Oshtorak

A brilliant defender from Iran, Hadi Oshtorak was part of the title-winning Patna Pirates team in season 4. He has made a huge impact with his performances in the PKL and also has a big pedigree on the international stage. The defender made 13 points in seven matches across the fourth season and also took five points in the final. The Iranian will play for the Puneri Paltan in the forthcoming season of the PKL.

Fazal Atrachali

Atrachali is the most successful, impactful and popular foreign player in PKL’s history. He has won several accolades in the division and is one of the most impressive defenders across the sport. In 103 matches, Atrachali has scored 317 tackle points and is the sole individual to achieve this mark.

He was part of the title-winning Patna Pirates team in the fourth season and scored 52 points in 16 matches. However, he managed only one tackle point in the final. In the upcoming season, Atrachali will play for U Mumba.
