Some notable players will not be a part of the upcoming PKL 12 season.

The 12th edition of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL 12) is going to be an exciting one. Recently, the auction for the new season took place, which saw the movement of major players. While most teams spent big on high-profile players to strengthen their squads, there were a few individuals who did not find any buyers despite their talents and records.

Pardeep Narwal, Sahil Gulia, and others are among the top players who were not bought in the PKL 12 auction. It was shocking to see that the PKL outfits decided to pass up the opportunity to buy some notable players, indicating a shift towards younger talents by the respective teams.

On that note, let’s look at the top 10 most shocking names that went unsold in the PKL 12 Auction.

Rohit Poonia

Rohit Poonia went unsold in the PKL 12 auction. The defender made 24 tackle points last season but failed to find any buyer this season, which ensures his exclusion from the upcoming PKL term.

Sahil Gulia

Sahil Gulia will be away from the PKL 12 action after going unsold in the auction. He had spent four seasons with the Tamil Thalaivas until season 11. He scored 31 tackle points in the previous season, but failed to find a buyer.

Abhishek S Manokaran

Another former Tamil Thalaiavas defender who went unsold in the PKL 12 auction was Abhishek S Manokaran. He managed 31 tackle points for the side in season 11. The defender has been part of the side since 2019, playing fairly regularly too.

Jitender Yadav

Former Gujarat Giants player Jitender Yadav was also not bought in the PKL 12 auction. Despite playing 19 matches and scoring 58 points, the all-rounder went unsold, meaning he will not be seen in the upcoming edition of the tournament.

Sanskar Mishra

Sanskar Mishra’s first season in PKL did not go as planned. Playing for the Haryana Steelers, the raider scored only 20 points in 11 outings. Sanskar was not picked in the auction due to his average performance.

Jatin Phogat

Jatin Phogat was one of the raiders who were expected to find a buyer but did not in the PKL 12 auction. He featured for the Bengaluru Bulls last season, scoring 32 points in 12 outings.

Aryavardhan Navale

Aryavardhan Navale had to contend with disappointment after going unsold in the PKL 12 auction. Despite scoring 45 raid points in the 11th season of the competition, none of the participating teams were ready to put their faith in the former Puneri Paltan player.

Sushil Khatri

It was a surprise to see Sushil Khatri going unsold at the PKL 12 auction. The raider scored 64 points in 16 matches. It was a disappointing season for him, and the consequence of it has led him to go unsold in the auction.

Siddharth Desai

One of the most unexpected names to go unsold at the PKL 12 auction was star raider Siddharth Desai. Known for his power-packed performances and consistency, Desai has been among the league’s top raiders since his debut.

In just 80 matches, he has racked up an impressive 702 total points, with a solid average of 8.66 raid points per match and a not-out percentage of nearly 73%. Despite his proven numbers, Desai found no takers this time around, leaving fans stunned.

Pardeep Narwal

The most shocking name that went unsold at the PKL 12 auction was that of Pardeep Narwal, the record breaker and dupki King. Pardeep started his journey with Bengaluru Bulls, where he didn’t get many opportunities.

In season 3, he was acquired by the Patna Pirates, and his fortunes changed as he had a breakthrough season. In 2017, he became the first Raider to score 300+ points in one season. Pardeep was struggling for the last two seasons. In season 10, he scored 122 raid points in 17 matches, and in season 11, his performance declined once again.
