Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 starting date has been announced. The much-awaited PKL 12 will commence on Friday, August 29, 2025. The previous season established the crucial role of the corners in defence, as the team with the best corner combination, Haryana Steelers, lifted the trophy.
For the upcoming season, all teams have ensured that their corner combinations have been formed meticulously in the PKL 12 auction. Hence, the upcoming season is set to offer unprecedented levels of competition and entertainment.

List of each team’s best corner-
Bengal Warriorz: Nitesh Kumar (Right corner)
Nitesh Kumar is one of the retained players of the Bengal Warriorz. Kumar had a good season 11 and was the best defender on the team. The right corner has a lot of experience behind him and has been a consistent performer throughout his PKL career.
In the previous season, Kumar scored 59 tackle points. However, in his overall PKL career, he has 409 tackle points in 150 matches, including 28 High 5s, and has also executed 31 super tackles.
Bengaluru Bulls: Ankush Rathee (Left corner)
Ankush Rathee was one of the most successful players in the Jaipur Pink Panthers last year. In PKL 12, Rathee has been included in the Bengaluru Bulls camp. He will be the most experienced defender on the side and will be expected to execute similarly.
With the help of 3 High 5s, Rathee scored 68 tackle points in PKL 11. Whereas, if looking at his overall PKL journey, Rathee has scored 227 tackle points in 69 matches, including 20 High 5s, and has executed 15 crucial super-tackles. The Bulls must have high expectations of Rathee to get them going this season after finishing in the 12th position.

Dabang Delhi: Fazel Atrachali (Left Corner)

Fazel Atrachali is the most experienced defender in the current player lot of the PKL. He has had an extraordinary Kabaddi career and continues to do well in the PKL. After leading the Warriorz in the previous season, Atrachali has now joined Dabang Delhi for the upcoming season.
This will be Atrachali’s 11th year in the Pro Kabaddi League. Sultan debuted in PKL 2 and has scored 545 tackle points over the last 11 seasons. He has committed 32 High 5s and executed 36 super tackles in his PKL career. Atrachali’s experience will be a great addition to the Dabang Delhi squad for Season 12.
Haryana Steelers: Rahul Sethpal (Right corner)
Rahul Sethpal’s accuracy is one of his best qualities. In PKL 11, Sethpal scored 73 tackle points. He was a crucial player for the Steelers. In the upcoming season, Sethpal’s responsibilities will be even more in the absence of the Iranian defender.
Sethpal has scored 196 tackle points in 80 matches. He has clinched 13 High 5s and executed 30 super tackles and will be the most crucial defender for the Haryana Steelers.
Jaipur Pink Panthers: Nitin Rawal (Left corner)
Jaipur Pink Panthers let go of Ankush Rathee and included another spectacular left corner to replace him. Nitin Rawal is back with the Panthers after 3 years. Rawal started his PKL journey with the Panthers and was with them for four seasons. Now, he is back with his first team and with a lot more experience.
Nitin Rawal was in the top 5 defenders of the previous season with 74 tackle points. In his PKL career, he has scored 167 tackle points in 103 matches, including 8 High 5s.
Moreover, he has also contributed with his raiding skills, as he has 144 raid points under his name. After a successful individual season, it will be interesting to see how Rawal performs in the upcoming season.
Patna Pirates: Ankit Jaglan (Left corner)
Patna Pirates retained Ankit Jaglan in the PKL 12 auction. Jaglan took the responsibility of captaincy mid-season for the team and took the Pirates to the finals. He also had a brilliant season on the left corner and finished as the second most successful defender in the season.
Jaglan finished PKL 11 with 79 tackle points. In his PKL career, he has scored 145 tackle points, including 9 High 5s, in 48 matches.
Gujarat Giants: Mohammadreza Shadloui (Left corner)

The Iranian all-rounder has won the last two seasons of the Pro Kabaddi League. Once again, Shadloui has been bought by a new team, and it will be interesting to see if he can lift his third consecutive title. Shadloui has upgraded his skills, and apart from being a brilliant left corner, he has also displayed his raiding skills.
In the previous season, Mohammadreza Shadloui scored 57 raid points, along with 82 tackle points. In his PKL career, the showstopper has scored 354 tackle points in just 92 matches, including 32 High 5s and 94 raid points. With the addition of a new coaching staff and star players, Gujarat Giants will be an interesting team to watch out for in the upcoming season.
Puneri Paltan: Gaurav Khatri (Right corner)
Gaurav Khatri was another star defender from the previous season. The PKL 10 champions, Puneri Paltan, have retained Khatri for the upcoming season. He began his PKL journey with the Paltan in season 9 and has been a successful defender for the franchise for three consecutive seasons.
The right corner scored 61 tackle points in the previous season. In his PKL career, Khatri has scored 150 tackle points, including 10 High 5s, in 61 matches. With a new left corner combination coming in PKL 12, it will be interesting to see how Khatri keeps up his form.
Tamil Thalaivas: Nitesh Kumar (Left corner)
Nitesh Kumar turned out to be the best defender for Tamil Thalaivas in the previous season. Kumar joined the Thalaivas in season 10 but only played as a substitute. However, when he got the opportunity to play as the main left corner in season 11, he proved to be the best for them and got retained by the franchise for PKL 12.
In his PKL career, Kumar has 81 tackle points, including 8 High 5s, in 31 matches. He has a brilliant tackle success rate of 55% and will be a crucial player for the Thalaivas going into the next season, where he will have a stunning raiding unit with him.
Telugu Titans: Shubham Shinde (Right corner)
Telugu Titans got Shubham Shinde in the PKL 12 auction. Shinde has been a part of PKL since Season 6. He has played for multiple teams, including Puneri Paltan, Bengal Warriorz, and Patna Pirates. He started PKL 11 as the Pirates’ captain but later stepped down from the position. However, he had a decent season and scored 56 tackle points.
In his PKL career, Shinde has 207 tackle points, including 9 High 5s, in 106 matches. Telugu Titans had a weak defence lineup in the previous season. However, with the addition of Shinde, Aman, and Bharat Hooda, the defence is looking quite steady for PKL 12.
U Mumba: Rinku Sharma (Right corner)
U Mumba retained Rinku Sharma in the PKL 12 auction. Rinku has been part of U Mumba since his debut in PKL season 8 and has played the role of the right corner pretty well. Sharma had a good performance last season. He scored 45 tackle points, and his tackle success rate was an average of 41%.
In his PKL career, Sharma has 192 tackle points, including 9 High 5s, in 72 matches.
UP Yoddhas: Sumit Sangwan (Left corner)
UP Yoddhas retained Sumit Sangwan ahead of the PKL 12 auction. Sangwan was one of the best defenders in the previous season and finished in the top 10. He has been an integral part of the UP Yoddhas since season 7 and has played spectacularly throughout these 5 seasons.
In PKL 11, Sangwan scored 72 tackle points. In 112 matches, he has 326 tackle points, including 24 High 5s. His phenomenal performances have kept UP Yoddhas one of the consistent teams in the tournament. With a strong lineup, it will be interesting to see where the Yoddhas will finish in the upcoming season.
