PKL 12: Top five best moments from Day 5 matches

At the end of Day 5 of PKL 12, Puneri Paltan have secured the first position.

In the first match, Dabang Delhi started their Pro Kabaddi League 12 (PKL 12) campaign with a big win over Bengaluru Bulls, handing them their second defeat of this season. Ashu was once again the star of the match, scoring 15 points and proving that he is worth every penny spent.

The second match was comparatively tight, but the Jaipur Pink Panthers maintained a fair distance against the Patna Pirates and handed them a 3-point defeat.

Nitin Dhankar led the raiding attack in the absence of Manjeet Dahiya, who has been ruled out of the season, and was fairly supported by Ali Samadi, making his PKL debut.

The day was filled with electrifying performances that left fans in awe. On that note, let’s take a look at the top five moments from Day 5 of PKL 12:

5. Ayan’s Failure

Ayan was up against his former coach, Narender Redhu, who knew his strategies, an advantage that helped the Jaipur Pink Panthers make the star raider play to their tune.

Ayan managed to score 6 raid points but was tackled 5 times, including once in a super tackle. His failure in crucial moments allowed Jaipur to gain control of the match and secure the victory.

4. Ali Samadi’s Debut

Wearing a bandana and with a blonde hairstyle, Ali Samadi stepped onto the mat with a swagger all his own. Kabaddi fans, especially those of Jaipur, had been waiting for his debut since he was picked in the auction, and he did not disappoint.

With his agility and speed, he scored 8 raid points, supporting Nitin Dhankar and helping the Jaipur Pink Panthers secure a crucial win. Remember this name, folks, a new star is emerging from Iran, and his name is Ali Samadi.

3. Maninder Singh’s Super 10

Ayan was struggling today, leaving all the responsibility on Maninder Singh’s shoulders to keep the Pirates in the match. He rose to the occasion, scoring 15 raid points, including 7 bonus and 8 touch points, marking a strong comeback performance.

However, the defense failed to support his efforts, and the Pirates eventually lost the match. Still, the news of Maninder Singh‘s return to form will surely bring some relief to Pirates fans.

2. Nitin Dhankar’s Super 10

With the news of star raider Manjeet Dahiya being ruled out for the season, Jaipur fans were in panic mode. However, in the very first match, Nitin Dhankar showed that he is capable of carrying the team on his shoulders.

Acquired by the Panthers for ₹1 crore in the auction, he is proving to fans that while he may not be Arjun Deshwal, he has the potential to create a legacy of his own with the Panthers.

1. Ashu Malik’s Super 10

Ashu was released by Dabang Delhi ahead of the PKL 12 auction, but they brought him back for two years using the RTM card for ₹1.90 crore. He is once again proving that he is worth every penny.

The Dabang Delhi captain led from the front, scoring 15 raid points and guiding his team to an easy victory. This is his 39th Super 10 in just 92 matches.
