PKL 12: Top five best moments from Day 8 matches

Puneri Paltan remains in first place at the end of Day 8 of PKL 12.

Day Eight of Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12) kicked off with a clash between the Bengaluru Bulls and U Mumba. Mumba took an early lead and completely dominated the game from start to finish. Bulls never came close to a possible comeback, as U Mumba stayed firmly in control throughout the match.

The second match was a close battle, with UP Yoddhas and Haryana Steelers going toe-to-toe for the first 30 minutes. However, Haryana held their nerve in the final moments, took the lead in the closing minutes, and snatched a hard-fought victory from the Yoddhas.

The day was filled with many moments worth remembering. On that note, let’s take a look at the top five moments from Day 8 of PKL 12:

5. Gagan Gowda’s Super 10

Gagan Gowda is outstandingly doing his role as the main raider for UP Yoddhas this season, and today he secured yet another Super 10, scoring a total of 13 raid points against the Haryana Steelers.

However, he relied heavily on bonus points, collecting 8 of them while managing only 5 touch points. This lack of touch points was one of the key reasons the Yoddhas couldn’t get across the line. The team will be expecting him to step up even more in the upcoming matches.

4. Rinku’s High 5

Rinku has been a key part of U Mumba since Season 8, and year after year, he continues to prove why the management places so much trust in him. Today, U Mumba registered a dominant 20-point victory over the Bengaluru Bulls, with Rinku playing a huge role.

He secured his first High 5 of the season, anchoring the Mumba defense and helping seal an easy win for his team.

3. Rahul Sethpal’s High 5

One of the heroes for the Haryana Steelers last season, Rahul Sethpal, once again reminded Kabaddi fans of his capabilities. He scored his first High 5 of the season today against the UP Yoddhas, playing a crucial role in helping his team secure a hard-fought victory.

He was fairly supported by the other corner defender, also named Rahul, and together they strengthened the defence and gave Haryana an impressive win.

2. Rahul Ahri’s High 5

When the Haryana Steelers failed to retain Shadloui in the auction, they targeted other highly-rated left corners but came up short. As a result, they shifted their strategy, going big on Naveen and filling the left corner position with young defender Rahul Ahri.

Many doubted this move, believing no one could replace Shadloui, especially since Haryana’s biggest strength had always been their defense.

However, the management’s faith in Rahul Ahri paid off today. He proved himself in style, scoring his first-ever High 5 in the PKL and finishing with a total of six tackle points against the UP Yoddhas, leading his team to a commanding victory.

1. Ajit Chouhan’s Super 10 and 6-point raid

Ajit Chouhan delivered a dominating performance against the Bengaluru Bulls right from the start of the match, securing yet another Super 10.

He scored a total of 13 points, including a massive six-point raid, becoming only the fourth player in PKL history to achieve this feat, joining the elite company of Pardeep Narwal, Ajinkya Pawar, and Manjeet.

His six-point raid stands out as one of the biggest highlights of the season so far and was important in putting U Mumba in a commanding position. He later suffered an ankle injury and spent the remainder of the game on the bench. U Mumba fans will be hoping for his speedy recovery, as his presence is crucial to their campaign.
