PKL 12: Top 10 best players of Vizag Leg

From experienced to young, many players performed brilliantly in this leg.
After 14 days, 28 matches, and countless unforgettable moments, the Vizag Leg of Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12) has finally come to an end.
Fans witnessed everything in this leg, right from the first-ever tie-breaker and golden raid to fiery, revengeful celebrations from players. Dabang Delhi emerged as the most dominant side of the Vizag Leg, finishing unbeaten with 5 wins in 5 matches and sitting comfortably at the top of the table.
Vizag witnessed several breathtaking performances that left fans in awe; some went in vain, while others turned into match-winning efforts. On that note, let’s take a look at the top 10 best players of the Vizag Leg of PKL 12:
10. Gurdeep Sangwan
Puneri Paltan bought Gurdeep for ₹47.10 lakhs in the auction. He had big shoes to fill because he replaced Sanket Sawant, and he has delivered well so far. In just 6 matches, he has scored 15 tackle points at an impressive 48% tackle success rate.
His contributions, both in tackles and assists, have been important in Paltan’s 4 victories so far. Gurdeep also registered a High 5 against Bengal Warriorz.

9. Gagan Gowda
UP Yoddhas had high hopes from Gagan Gowda ahead of the season after his heroics last year, where he played an important role in taking the team to the semis. So far, Gagan has been living up to the expectations.
In 4 matches, he has registered two Super 10s and played a decisive role in both of UP’s victories. With 46 raid points at a massive 82% success strike rate, he has established himself as the lead raider of the Yoddhas’ raiding unit.
8. Aditya Shinde
Ahead of the season, Puneri Paltan captain Aslam Inamdar had hinted in an interview that fans would see Aditya Shinde in a new avatar this year. So far, Aditya has lived up to his captain’s words.
In 6 matches, he has scored 48 raid points at an average of 8, with an impressive 75% strike rate. More importantly, his consistent contributions have played a vital role in the Paltan’s 4 victories.
7. Fazel Atrachali
Fazel Atrachali is back to doing what he does best, dominating raiders. In the Vizag leg, fans witnessed him in a different role after almost 8 years, with Dabang Delhi handing the captaincy to Ashu Malik.
This allowed Fazel to play with a free mind, acting more like a defensive leader and focusing purely on his tackles. He scored 15 tackle points in 5 matches, averaging 3 per game, and registered 2 High 5s.
His solid presence has been one of the key reasons why Delhi sits at the top of the table with 5 wins in 5 games.
6. Nitin Dhankhar
Jaipur Pink Panthers made a bold move before the auction by releasing their star raider, Arjun Deshwal, a decision that shocked everyone. To fill the position, they placed their bet on Nitin Dhankhar, securing him for nearly ₹1 crore and handing him the responsibility of lead raider.
Nitin has repaid that faith in style, scoring 55 raid points in just 4 games at a staggering average of 13.75 per match. He has ensured that Jaipur fans don’t miss Arjun’s services, emerging as the Panthers’ biggest contributor in both of their victories so far.
5. Sumit Sangwan
Sumit was announced as the captain of UP Yoddhas before the season, and he made an immediate impact. In the very first match, he scored a High 5 with 8 tackle points, followed by another High 5 in the next game against Patna Pirates.
He has once again displayed his brilliant defensive display and remains the key reason behind both of the Yoddhas’ victories.
So far, UP has won 2 out of 4 matches, with Sumit contributing 15 tackle points at an average of 3.5 per game. The Yoddhas will be counting on their captain to continue leading from the front in the upcoming leg as well.
4. Gaurav Khatri
Gaurav Khatri is currently leading the chart of top defenders this season with 19 tackle points in 6 games, averaging more than 3 tackles per match at an impressive 67% success rate.
He has been solid in Puneri Paltan’s defence, contributing massively to all 4 of their victories so far. Gaurav has also registered 2 incredible High 5s. He is one of the main reasons why Puneri Paltan are sitting comfortably in the second spot on the points table.
3. Ayan Lohchab
Ayan, who played as a secondary raider for Patna Pirates last season, supporting Devank, has now taken over the lead role in the raiding department with Devank’s departure. Despite the added responsibility, he has been nothing short of exceptional.
In just 5 games, Ayan has already scored 3 Super 10s, including back-to-back matches where he crossed the 20 raid point mark. He is now second on the list of the leading raid scorers of this season with 67 raid points.
However, the lack of support from fellow raiders and a struggling defence have kept Patna Pirates at the bottom of the table. Fans will hope that Ayan continues his brilliant form in the next leg, while the rest of the team steps up to provide him the much-needed support.
2. Devank Dalal

Devank Dalal, who was bought for a whopping ₹2.205 Cr by Bengal Warriorz in the auction, is once again proving why he is one of the most valuable raiders in PKL. The last season’s Best Raider has continued his brilliant form, scoring 63 raid points in just 4 matches.
He started the season with a bang against Haryana Steelers, where he notched up 21 raid points and celebrated in style by tearing a page and twirling his moustache as a mark of revenge.
Since then, he has scored a Super 10 in every game, showing consistency and brilliance. However, despite his brilliance, Bengal Warriorz have failed to win after the opening match due to poor support from the defence and the other raiders.
1. Ashu Malik

Dabang Delhi released Ashu Malik before the auction, but the team brought him back using the FBM card for 2 years at a massive price of ₹1.90 Cr, proving how important he is for the team. Once again, he was handed the captaincy, and just like the last two seasons, he is succeeding in this role, while his personal performance is also improving.
In 5 matches so far, Ashu has scored a Super 10 in every game, and has 75 raid points at an incredible average of 15 raid points per match. His leadership, combined with his consistency, has been the reason behind Dabang Delhi’s unbeaten run, keeping them firmly at the top of the table.
