Jaipur Pink Panthers will start their season against Patna Pirates on Tuesday.

The 12th edition of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL 12) is currently underway in Vizag, with the tournament starting on Friday, August 29.

The Jaipur Pink Panthers will commence their season on Tuesday, September 2, against the Patna Pirates at the Vishwanadh Sports Club in Vizag in the 10th match of the Pro Kabaddi League.

However, the Pink Panthers have suffered a massive blow ahead of their opening match. Their star raider, Manjeet Dahiya, has been ruled out of the PKL 12 due to an injury he sustained during the training camp.

The two-time PKL champions took to social media to make the announcement.

“Regretfully, Manjeet Dahiya will not be able to be a part of the Jaipur Pink Panthers for this season. We wish Manjeet a speedy recovery and wish him all the best for the future,” the caption of the post by the franchise read.

The Jaipur-based franchise roped in the services of Manjeet for a steal deal at INR 40 lakhs during the PKL Season 12 Auction. Dabang Delhi opened the bidding for the Indian raider at his base price of INR 20 lakhs and continued fighting until the end against the Pink Panthers.

Manjeet Dahiya’s PKL career in numbers

Manjeet Dahiya started his PKL career with the Patna Pirates in PKL Season 6, before moving to Puneri Paltan for the sixth edition. He played for the Tamil Thalaivas and Haryana Steelers in Season 8 and 9, respectively.

The Indian raider returned to the Patna Pirates in PKL Season 10 for his second stint with the franchise. In the previous season, Manjeet Dahiya was part of former PKL champions U Mumba. He has played for five franchises across six seasons and has earned 100+ points in every season he has been part of.

In total, Manjeet has earned 810 points (730 raid points & 187 tackle points) in 131 matches. The raider has 17 Super Raids and 19 Super 10s from 1535 raids in the Pro Kabaddi League. In defense, he has 8 Super Tackles to his name.
