PKL 12: Manpreet Singh opens up on controversy surrounding Sanjeev Baliyan & Tamil Thalaivas management

Sanjeev Baliyan leveled serious allegations against the management of Tamil Thalaivas in PKL 12.
In Match 103 of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12), the Haryana Steelers registered a commanding 45-34 victory over the Telugu Titans, delivering a major blow to the Titans’ hopes of finishing in the top 4.
The match was evenly contested in the first half, with the Titans taking an early lead before the Steelers made a strong comeback. However, the second half was completely one-sided, as the Steelers dominated and sealed the win ahead of the play-ins.
Bharat Hooda was the lone warrior for the Titans, scoring 15 raid points and 1 tackle point. For the Steelers, Vinay led the charge with 11 raid points, well supported by Shivam Patare, who added 8 points. Unfortunately, Shivam sustained an injury during the game and had to be taken off the court.
After the match, representatives from both teams addressed the media.
Telugu Titans
On the team’s poor performance in the second half
Telugu Titans head coach Krishan Hooda pointed out the mistakes made by his team and said,-
“In the first half, Bharat was the only raider performing well, and because of him, we inflicted an early all-out. But in both halves, our defense didn’t play well. Sometimes a team wants to perform, but things don’t go as planned. But our defense didn’t do any good today.”

On a defeat just before the playoffs
Krishan Hooda gave reassurance to Titans fans before the playoffs and said,-
“It happens, there are 12 teams, and every team is good. The matches are competitive, and the teams are evenly matched. The one who makes fewer mistakes ends up winning the game, and that’s exactly what happened today. It’s okay; we’ll come back strong and play very well in the next match.”
Haryana Steelers
On Sanjeev Baliyan’s statement against Tamil Thalaivas
Manpreet Singh shared his thoughts on the recent controversy involving Sanjeev Baliyan and Tamil Thalaivas. He said,-
“Whatever Sanjeev Sir has said and whatever has happened between him and the management, I don’t think it’s good for Kabaddi or the league. I think they should sit together and talk it out because they’ll have to work together to grow Kabaddi and take the team forward. They should discuss what went wrong this season and what can be improved next season for better results.”
On the Journey ahead of the playoffs
Haryana Steelers head coach Manpreet Singh talked about the team’s journey throughout the season and their plans ahead of the playoffs. He said,-
“We have played very good Kabaddi throughout the tournament, but we lost 4–5 matches by just 1 point. We performed well even in those matches, and if they had gone in our favor, we would have been at the top of the table.
The league has 18 matches, and we’ve given our 100% in all of them, whether it’s the players, coaches, or management. We’re the defending champions, and we’ve tried to play like one.
We’ll give our 100% in the playoff matches as well. To all the fans coming here to support the Steelers and the league, I want to say that our team won’t disappoint you in the playoffs; we’ll give our best and try to get as close to the trophy as possible.”
