PKL 12: Key player battles to watch out for in Match 19, Bengal Warriorz vs Telugu Titans

Bengal Warriorz and Telugu Titans are looking for their second win in PKL 12.

Bengal Warriorz have had a mixed outing in their first two matches in Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12). In one match, where they dominated the defending champions, Haryana Steelers, they lost to the Season 10 champions quite comfortably in their second match.

The only constant for them has been Devank Dalal‘s sheer dominance in both matches. Warriorz will face the Telugu Titans on September 7, 2025. Telugu Titans began the season with back-to-back close defeats, but have found their way back to the winning path against Jaipur Pink Panthers in their previous clash.

Titans showcased a complete performance to register their first win of the season, which will give them confidence for their upcoming matches. Whenever Devank Dalal competes, the match’s result may depend on how the opposition’s defence performs.

It will be the same in the Warriorz vs Titans encounter. Dalal is in stunning form, and if the Titans’ defence combination works out a plan and executes it well, they can put pressure on the Warriorz.

On that note, let’s take a look at the key battles to watch out for between the Bengal Warriorz vs Telugu Titans in PKL 12.

Bharat Hooda vs Manprit

Bharat Hooda has been a fabulous addition to the Telugu Titans‘ squad. He has scored 17 raid and 5 tackle points in 3 matches. Hooda contributes to both departments and has been successfully scoring crucial points for the Titans. However, he definitely has scope for improvement as he has much more potential than these numbers show.

On the other hand, Manprit is a find for the Warriorz this season. He has worked pretty well as the second raider on the team. Manprit has scored 17 raid points in two matches, including a Super 10.

Manprit’s importance came to light when the Warriorz failed to dominate against Paltan, as Manpreet didn’t score big points.

If he can continue the form of his first match, he can become a threat to the Titans. Although Hooda’s primary focus will be on the raid, his defence will come in handy against a raider like Manprit.

Vijay Malik vs Ashish Malik

The battle of the Maliks. Vijay Malik has been the backbone of the Telugu Titans’ raiding lineup this season. Despite being an all-rounder, he has played the role of a main raider as Ashish Narwal and Chetan Sahu haven’t been up to the mark. Malik has scored 27 raid points in 3 matches, including a Super 10, and is the leading scorer for the team.

On the other hand, Ashish Malik is the only defender from the Bengal Warriorz who has made a mark in PKL 12. Warriorz’s defence has not been the best. Nitesh Kumar, Parteek, and Mayur Kadam have been average.

Ashish Malik’s performance was not good in the second match, but he scored a High 5 in the first. If the Warriorz need to get back to winning ways, Ashish Malik has to put on a good show against the Titans and keep their raiders under pressure.

Shubham Shinde vs Devank Dalal

This battle is probably going to be the most exciting one. Devank Dalal has been a player who can demolish the opponent single-handedly. He is the most successful raider of the season with 38 raid points in just two matches.

Moreover, these points have come against two of the strongest defensive lineups of the season. Restricting him can be considered as 50% of the match in the Titans’ favour. The responsibility for restricting Dalal will be in the hands of Shubham Shinde. Shinde has had an average season till now with 7 tackle points in 3 matches.

However, he can stop his former teammate from the Patna Pirates. Moreover, Dalal has been tackled from the right corner with dashes a few times this season. If Shinde can find a good combination of dashes with the cover on Dalal, he might get Titans an edge in the match.
