PKL 12: Will Sagar Rathee play against Bengaluru Bulls tonight?

Sagar Rathee suffered an injury during Tamil Thalaivas’ pre-season camp ahead of PKL 12.

Tamil Thalaivas will lock horns with the Bengaluru Bulls in match 36 of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12) at the Sawai Mansingh Indoor Stadium in Jaipur, on Tuesday, September 16.

The Thalaivas are placed eighth in the PKL 2025 points table with four points from as many encounters, including two wins and a couple of losses. They have a score difference of one.

Meanwhile, the Bulls are ranked fourth in the standings with eight points and a score difference of -5 from seven matches, having won four games and lost three thus far in the ongoing edition of the Pro Kabaddi League.

The Chennai-based franchise started their PKL 12 campaign with a 38-35 victory over the Telugu Titans in the season opener. They lost to U Mumba by a 36-33 margin and registered a 37-28 loss against the Gujarat Giants in the third encounter.

In their latest outing, Tamil Thalaivas registered a 10-point victory over the Bengal Warriorz, with the final scoreline reading 46-36, to get back to winning ways in PKL 2025.

Will Sagar Rathee play tonight?

Sagar Rathee is unlikely to feature in Tamil Thalaivas’ clash tonight against the Bengaluru Bulls, as the Indian defender is currently undergoing rehabilitation and is yet to recover from his injury.

Tamil Thalaivas took to social media to make an official statement on the same. “Sagar is currently undergoing rehabilitation to ensure complete recovery from injury. He will rejoin the team upon his return to full fitness,” the statement read.

Sagar Rathee suffered an injury during the franchise’s pre-season camp and missed the first couple of matches. However, he played the third match, but he wasn’t up to the mark, owing to an injury. The coaching staff then decided to rest Sagar until he gets completely match fit.

Sagar was named as the skipper of Tamil Thalaivas for the 11th edition of the Pro Kabaddi League, but was ruled out mid-season due to an injury. The Chennai-based franchise had retained the defender ahead of PKL Season 12.
