PKL 12: Tamil Thalaivas provide major update on Sagar Rathee's situation

Sagar Rathee is one of the star defenders of the Tamil Thalaivas squad in PKL 12.

Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12) has reached its second leg in Jaipur, Rajasthan. After a thrilling first leg in Vizag, all the teams seemed to have found their rhythm, and a balanced starting 7 for the second leg of the season. However, Tamil Thalaivas are not one of those teams.

Tamil Thalaivas appeared to struggle in the first leg of the season, losing two out of three matches. Now, as we move towards the next leg, the Thalaivas have made some big announcements to put the rumours to rest.

After clarifying their situation with Pawan Sehrawat, Thalaivas took to the social media platform to provide an update on their star defender, Sagar Rathee.

Sagar Rathee was named captain of the Thalaivas in the previous season. However, due to injury, he missed almost the entire season. Moving on to this season, the Thalaivas retained him, but his injury still hasn’t completely healed.

While addressing this issue, the Thalaivas’ official statement stated, “Sagar is currently undergoing rehabilitation to ensure complete recovery from injury.” They further added, “He will rejoin the team upon his return to full fitness.”

Sagar’s absence will definitely affect Tamil Thalaivas’ defence. Although he hasn’t played many matches in the last two seasons, he is a brilliant defender to have on any side. It will be interesting to see how much his absence will hurt the team and when he will be able to return.

Tamil Thalaivas’ current situation in PKL 12

Tamil Thalaivas are one of the best teams on paper. They have a stellar raiding lineup and a good defence lineup as well. But they didn’t turn up well in the first leg of the season. After winning the first match of the season, they lost two consecutive matches.

However, the Thalaivas had a brilliant start to the second leg of the season. They defeated Bengal Warriorz in their first match in Jaipur. Most importantly, they showcased a complete performance, as Arjun Deshwal and Narender Kandola played as a good raiding combo.

On the other hand, Nitesh Kumar, Aashish, and Ronak showed brilliant combination tackles to claim the victory.

Sagar played only one match for Thalaivas in the Pro Kabaddi League 12 so far. So it won’t affect their rhythm. But the Thalaivas would want Sagar to return as soon as possible; his inclusion makes their defensive structure more ruthless.
