PKL 12: Will Mohit Goyat play against U Mumba tonight?

Mohit Goyat is yet to play a match in PKL 12.

Puneri Paltan will lock horns with U Mumba in match 40 of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12) at the Sawai Mansingh Indoor Stadium in Jaipur, on Thursday, September 18.

The Pune-based franchise is placed second in the PKL 2025 standings with 10 points from seven matches, including five wins and two losses. They have a score difference of 37 – the highest in the season so far.

Meanwhile, U Mumba are placed third in the standings with eight points and a score difference of 16 from six matches, courtesy of four wins and two losses.

Puneri Paltan registered victories against Bengaluru Bulls, Gujarat Giants, Bengal Warriorz, UP Yoddhas, and Telugu Titans. They suffered defeats against Dabang Delhi in a golden raid and Patna Pirates. Pune won four matches and lost two in the opening leg of PKL 2025, and commenced their Jaipur leg with a 39-33 victory against the Titans.

Will Mohit Goyat play tonight?

Puneri Paltan’s raider Mohit Goyat is yet to feature in the ongoing edition of the Pro Kabaddi League. The 23-year-old suffered a minor injury during the franchise’s pre-season camp and has been undergoing rehabilitation in Mumbai.

The Indian raider didn’t travel with the team to Vizag and has not yet joined the franchise in Jaipur. It is understood that Mohit is still in Mumbai and will regroup with the team once he completely recovers and is match fit.

“He’s not with the team. Mohit is in Mumbai right now. Kabaddi is a game prone to injuries, as players weigh approximately 80kg. Imagine what would happen if seven players fell on a raider; every player would likely sustain minor injuries. He also suffered a minor injury and is rehabbing in Mumbai. We’ll add him to the team once he gets fit,” Puneri Paltan coach Ajay Thakur said during the post-match press conference after their win over the Bengal Warriorz.

The Haryana-born athlete was retained by Puneri Paltan ahead of the PKL Season 12 Auction. The franchise is doing great without his services, but it will become much stronger once Mohit joins them.

Why is Mohit Goyat not playing in PKL 12?

Head coach Ajay Thakur confirmed that Mohit suffered a minor injury before the season and is currently undergoing rehabilitation in Mumbai. He is yet to join the team and will regroup with the other members shortly once he gets fit.
