PKL 12: Three players Bengaluru Bulls should target in auction

Bengaluru Bulls will look for a complete overhaul of the team in PKL 12.

Bengaluru Bulls had a shocking Season 11 of the Pro Kabaddi League. Despite having big names like Pardeep Narwal and Ajinkya Pawar, the team won just 2 out of 22 matches, lost 19, and managed only 1 tie, finishing last on the points table at 12th position. It was a season to forget for the fans and the franchise.

After such a disappointing campaign, the Bengaluru Bulls have made a massive change, parting ways with Randhir Singh Sehrawat, who had been their head coach from Season 1 to Season 11.

They’ve now appointed BC Ramesh, former Puneri Paltan head coach who guided Pune to a title in Season 10 and a runners-up finish in Season 9.

With a fresh vision and big purse for the auction, here are three players Bengaluru Bulls should target in the PKL 12 auction:

3. Pawan Sehrawat

When you talk about Pawan Sehrawat, Bengaluru Bulls naturally come to mind. It was this franchise that gave him the platform to become one of the most explosive and iconic raiders in PKL history. Starting his journey in Season 3 and then returning in Season 5, Pawan dominated the league for several seasons and even led the Bulls to a PKL title.

Now, with the team releasing all senior players and in need of a strong leader, the Bulls may look to bring back their former captain and face of the franchise. Pawan, too, has openly shown affection for the team that made him a superstar. Given Bengaluru’s large auction purse, they may go all-in to bring back their talisman.

2. Akash Shinde

BC Ramesh is known for trusting young talent, and one name that shone under his guidance at Puneri Paltan was Akash Shinde. While often overshadowed by Aslam Inamdar and others, Akash always proved his worth whenever given a chance. He was a consistent performer in Season 10, especially when key raiders were injured.

Now that he’s been released by Puneri Paltan, Akash becomes a prime target for his former coach. Whether as a primary or backup raider, his inclusion could add agility and consistency to Bengaluru’s attack.

1. Mohammadreza Shadloui

There’s no doubt that Mohammadreza Shadloui is one of the best left corner defenders in the league. For the past three seasons, he has been a dominant force in defence and was a vital part of Puneri Paltan’s championship run under BC Ramesh in Season 10.

Their successful partnership could continue in Bengaluru, especially since the team lacks defensive strength and has the budget to afford a top-tier player like Shadloui. His aggression, skill, and chemistry with the new coach make him a perfect fit.

With a new coach, a big auction purse, and a clean slate, Bengaluru Bulls are ready to rebuild. Targeting these three key players — a legendary leader, a young raider, and a world-class defender — could put them back on the map in PKL 12.
