PKL 12: Ajay Thakur provides major update on Mohit Goyat's absence

Mohit Goyat has missed three consecutive matches in PKL 12 so far.
Puneri Paltan got the better of the Bengal Warriorz and secured their third consecutive win in the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12).
With this win, they have sent a message of intent across the league about what they bring to the table this season. It was an all-round performance from Ajay Thakur’s side, with skipper Aslam Inamdar leading the way with 11 points.
Bengal Warriorz’s captain Devank Dalal continued his heroics on the mat and notched up 17 points, but couldn’t save his side. After the match, both teams’ head coaches and captains addressed the media.
Bengal Warriorz
Thoughts on the game
Bengal Warriorz head coach Naveen Kumar Bazzad shared his views on the game and said, “The match was going on equal terms in the first half. After that, the match turned, and we were left alone. The biggest mistake on our part was that one of our defenders got out. As soon as the defence made a mistake, the raider also made a mistake, and the pressure kept increasing.”
His own performance
Devank wasn’t satisfied with his performance and said, “Somewhere or the other it is my mistake that I got caught in the last raid before half time, otherwise the match was going on equal terms, and after I got out we couldn’t get up.”

Thoughts on Puneri Paltan’s performance
Devank opened up about his thoughts on Puneri Paltan and said, “Puneri Paltan have been practicing together for many years. It is not that they only practice in PKL, but they stay together even after the league is over. They have the advantage of playing together, and their combination is also good. We have a young team that will also get set gradually and will play well.”
Thoughts on the Telugu Titans
Naveen Kumar Bazzad shared his views on the Telugu Titans ahead of their next game and said, “They are also a good team. Both their matches have been very close. Vijay is a smart captain and a good player. Bharat is there, and the defence is also strong. So, their team is good, and we will also make our plans accordingly and clear whatever mistakes we have made, and play a good match.”

Thoughts on the win
Puneri Paltan head coach Ajay Thakur shared his feelings about his side’s third win on the trot and said, “It was a good match and it was tough till half time because there is no doubt that Devank is a good raider and even today he scored. But our defenders played with a lot of patience, and they deserve a lot of praise for that.”
“Aslam told me not to take any stress. Then, somewhere, the morale of the coach increases when the captain says something like that. I feel that today all of my players contributed a little bit, and that’s why we were able to win this match,” he added.
Coach’s support
Skipper Aslam Inamdar praised his coach for his support and contributions and said, “The most important role is our coach. I think everyone applauds the team when it wins. But I think the one who supports the team in bad times is a real coach.”
“Our coach never talks about bad times. He doesn’t scold us if we fail and shows a lot of confidence in us. I think what else do the players need? If a coach is giving so much confidence, then why won’t the result be seen? Then the players will put their whole life into it, so this is the only important thing,” he added.
Mohit Goyat’s absence
Ajay Thakur shared an update on Mohit Goyat, who was not present with the team. He said, “Mohit is in Mumbai and is undergoing rehabilitation. Kabaddi is a game full of injuries, and every player suffers minor injuries. He also suffered a minor injury and is doing his rehab in Mumbai. Once he gets fit, we will add him to the team.”
Thoughts on Dabang Delhi
Aslam Inamdar praised Dabang Delhi ahead of their next game, but also said that his team is ready for the challenge.
“Delhi are also a good team and I think that team is full of experience. There are Fazal and Surjeet bhai sahab. But our team is also doing very well. The result of the match is known only after the match, but we will fight hard for the win and will keep fighting,” he asserted.
Why did Mohit Goyat miss three consecutive matches in PKL 12?
Head coach Ajay Thakur confirmed that Mohit suffered a minor injury before the season and is currently undergoing rehabilitation in Mumbai. He is yet to join the team and will regroup with the other members shortly once he gets fit.
