PKL 12: Why did Mohit Goyat miss three consecutive matches in Pro Kabaddi 2025?

Mohit Goyat played a vital role in Puneri Paltan’s title-winning campaign in Season 10.
Season 10 champions Puneri Paltan extended their winning run in the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12) to three consecutive matches with a victory over Bengal Warriorz on Wednesday.
Puneri are placed atop the PKL 2025 points table with six points and a score difference of 31. The Pune-based franchise began their PKL 12 campaign with a victory over the Bengaluru Bulls in a tie-breaker after the full-time score read 32-32.
In their second match, they thrashed the Gujarat Giants 41-19 in a one-sided encounter. Recently, they defeated Bengal Warriorz with a score line of 45-36. Puneri Paltan will next be in action on Thursday, September 4, when they take on Dabang Delhi at the Vishwanadh Sports Club in Vizag.
Why hasn’t Mohit Goyat played in PKL 12 so far?
Puneri Paltan’s raider Mohit Goyat has missed three consecutive matches in the ongoing edition of the Pro Kabaddi League.
The franchise’s head coach, Ajay Thakur, confirmed that Mohit suffered a minor injury before the season and is currently undergoing rehabilitation in Mumbai. He is yet to join the team and will regroup with the other members shortly once he gets fit.
“He’s not with the team. Mohit is in Mumbai right now. Kabaddi is a game prone to injuries, as players weigh approximately 80kg. Imagine what would happen if seven players fell on a raider; every player would likely sustain minor injuries. He also suffered a minor injury and is rehabbing in Mumbai. We’ll add him to the team once he gets fit,” Puneri Paltan coach Ajay Thakur said during the post-match press conference after their win over the Bengal Warriorz.
Mohit Goyat was among the seven players retained by Puneri Paltan ahead of the PKL Season 12 auction. He was retained under the RYP category, alongside Aslam Inamdar, Dadaso Shivaji Pujari, and Aditya Shinde.
Mohit Goyat’s PKL career in numbers
Mohit Goyat made his PKL debut with Puneri Paltan in 2021 and has been part of the franchise since then. He has earned 579 points in 79 matches across four seasons with the Pune-based franchise. PKL 12 is his fifth season with the club.
