PKL 12: Tamil Thalaivas retain Narender Kandola for upcoming Pro Kabaddi season

Narender Kandola scored 82 raid points in PKL 11.

Tamil Thalaivas announced their first retention for PKL 12 on Wednesday. The Thalaivas announced the retention of star raider Narender Kandola on their social media platforms ahead of the Pro Kabaddi League season 12 auction.

Tamil Thalaivas had a below-average performance in PKL 11, ending in the 9th position. Narender Kandola was one of their main raiders, but had a below-par season. Kandola featured in only 13 matches last year due to injury. Moreover, he wasn’t at his best when he got onto the mat.

The star-raider scored 82 raid points, including 3 super-10s. Although the season did not go as he had thought, the team management has given him another massive opportunity by retaining him for the upcoming season.

Narender Kandola’s short yet dominant PKL career

Narender Kandola debuted in season 9 and took the kabaddi arena by storm. He had a fabulous debut season and scored 243 raid points in 23 matches, including 15 Super-10s.

Kandola has scored over 500 raid points in 57 matches with 29 Super-10s. He has been a star for the Tamil Thalaivas since his debut, and the team has once again shown faith in him.

What will be the expectations from Narender Kandola?

Narender Kandola has been part of the PKL for three seasons now. He is no longer a newbie but an experienced raider who will be the team’s first choice in raiding. Thalaivas management would expect Kandola to lead the raiding department.

He must take the responsibility and extract points for the team at crucial junctures of the game. Other than that, Kandola’s injury was a big issue last year, the management will be hoping for him to play all the matches in the upcoming season and provide the team with the best results.

This is the first retention that the Tamil Thalaivas have disclosed. It is unclear if they will come up with more retentions later or not.
