PKL 12: What went wrong for Tamil Thalaivas against Telugu Titans? Arjun Deshwal reveals

Telugu Titans get back to winning ways in PKL 12 by defeating Tamil Thalaivas.

Tamil Thalaivas suffered another defeat at the hands of Telugu Titans in a high-voltage encounter in the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12) on Friday.

The Titans, led by Bharat Hooda and Vijay Malik, put together a dominant performance on the mat to add two more points to their tally and finally bring an end to their three-match losing streak. With this win, they have jumped to fourth position in the standings, while the Thalaivas have fallen to eighth position.

After the game, representatives from both teams addressed the media.

What went wrong?

Tamil Thalaivas skipper Arjun Deshwal spoke about what went wrong for the Thalaivas and said, “I made mistakes right from the start today because if I hadn’t been super tackled, the match probably wouldn’t have lasted this long.”

“My biggest mistake was in the beginning, when I gave away a super tackle; after that, the defence got scattered. I could not control myself, and the match became so fast that mistakes kept happening one after the other,” he added.

Thoughts ahead of the next game

Arjun Deshwal also shared his views on the Haryana Steelers ahead of the next game and said, “First, we will look at the mistakes that were made today in defense as well as offense. Haryana Steelers are the best team, and they are doing well. So we will look at them as well and see what mistakes they are making. Coach Sahab will pay attention to that, and whatever mistakes have been made, he will tell the team.”

On Winning Strategy

Telugu Titans head coach Krishan Kumar Hooda spoke about his winning strategy and said, “We had made a strategy that we have to play a do-or-die match. We did not play it safe. From the beginning till the end, we motivated our players in this manner to play a do-or-die game now. Arjun Deshwal is among the best raiders in the country, and our complete concentration was on him.”

“Today, we probably gave him a few bonuses and also took his catches. Our team is second to none. I have great hope, faith, and trust in them that they will give good results. There is too much time, and we will perform well,” he added.
