Dabang Delhi will enter the PKL Auction with a purse value of ₹ 4.56 crores.

The Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Auction 12 is all set to take place in Mumbai on May 31 and June 1. Each team has a total purse of ₹5 crores.

However, the value of retained players will be deducted from this amount. The teams that have kept their core will have less to spend, while others that released most of their squad will have more money to make big signings.

Dabang Delhi unexpectedly has released all its star players and will enter the PKL 12 auction with the highest purse of ₹ 4.56 crores.

The team had a strong campaign last season, losing to Patna Pirates in the semifinals. Despite the success, they have released their key players and chose to part ways with Ashu Malik, Naveen Kumar and Yogesh Dahiya.

Dabang Delhi looking for a complete revamp in PKL 12 Auction

Ashu Malik was the MVP of the Dabang Delhi team, and in the absence of Naveen Kumar, he handled Delhi’s raiding department very smoothly and rescued the team many times from the jaws of defeat. Ashu scored 262 raid points in 23 matches, making him the league’s 2nd-best raider.

On the other hand, Yogesh, the lone warrior for Delhi’s defence, has also been released. He scored 75 tackle points in 22 matches and was the backbone of the team’s defence.

Naveen Kumar, who was with Delhi for 6 consecutive seasons, was also released. He didn’t have a good season, as constant injuries kept him off the mat, and upon returning, he struggled to regain his rhythm and form. However, despite this, Naveen was the key raider for Delhi throughout the season and can still single-handedly win matches for any team.

With all three stars released, Dabang Delhi will be looking for a new start at the auction. With 4.56 crores left in Delhi’s pocket, the team will have the busiest auction. They also have the luxury to target any top-tier players in all departments and will look to build a balanced squad this season.
