Mohammadreza Shadloui will be the most sought-after player at the PKL 12 Auction

Mohammadreza Shadloui was a vital member of the Haryana Steelers’ historic title-winning Pro Kabaddi League campaign last season. The Iranian all-rounder not only emerged as the MVP (Most Valuable Player) of the tournament but also played a pivotal role in his team’s maiden triumph.

He scored the highest tackle points last season with 82 tackle points in 24 matches. Moreover, he provides an X factor with his raiding ability as well and can help the team in case the top raiders are out. He is the fastest player to reach 300 tackle points. He also holds the record for most tackle points and most super tackles in a single PKL game. He scored 16 tackle points against Dabang Delhi in 2022.

However, after getting released by Patna Pirates, Mohammadreza Shadloui became the most expensive overseas player in the history of Pro Kabaddi League when he was bought by Puneri Paltan for a record price of 2.35 crore during the PKL 2023 Season 10 Auction. Because of his high price, he was released next season and was bought by the Haryana Steelers. He played a pivotal role in both Puneri Paltan’s and Haryana Steelers maiden triumphs to lift the trophy in back-to-back seasons.

With his versatility and match-winning performances, he is expected to go for a high amount in the PKL Auction once again. Let’s look at the teams that can target Mohammadreza Shadloui at the PKL 12 auction.

3. Dabang Delhi

Dabang Delhi will be the front-runners to target the Iranian all-rounder as they will have the highest purse. They have released all their star players ahead of the season 12 auction and will be looking to rebuild their squad in the auction.

Mohammadreza Shadloui’s presence will be a great addition to Delhi’s squad and will also provide great stability to the defence, as Delhi’s overall defensive performance was poor. They had the second-worst average tackle points among all teams.

2. Bengal Warriorz

The second team that will be looking to buy Mohammadreza Shadloui will be Bengal Warriorz. Bengal have also released their main players and will have a good amount of purse left.

They have released their left corner, Fazel Attrachali, and will be looking for a like-for-like replacement for him, and what could be better than the Iranian star player Mohammadreza Shadloui? His addition could solidify Bengal’s defence and offer them a X factor in the raiding department as well.

The defending champions, Haryana Steelers, will also be on the fray to buy back their star all-rounder using the FBM (Final Bid Match) card. They already have a good defence and would like to make their defence unstoppable like last year by buying Shadloui. Considering the contribution from Mohammadreza Shadloui, Haryana will aim to buy him back at the auction. He was the heartbeat of their defence last season and played a crucial role in their title run

Mohammadreza Shadloui will be the marquee name of the PKL Season 12 Auction. With so many teams needing a good and reliable defender,, he can once again become the highest buy of the auction. So when the PKL auction happens on May 31 and June 1, it will be interesting to see which team will win the bidding war for Shadloui.
