Bengaluru Bulls will aim to win their second title in PKL 12 under a new coach.

Bengaluru Bulls had their worst season in the Pro Kabaddi League last year, they finished last in the points table. Despite splurging on marquee raiders during the PKL 11 auction, the Bulls were let down by their biggest names. Neither their costliest signing, Ajinkya Pawar, nor top raider, Pardeep Narwal, managed to deliver when it mattered

After a disappointing performance last season, the Bulls released all the big names ahead of the season 12 auction. They also parted ways with their long-time coach Randhr Singh Sehrawat for the first time since the league’s inception.

They have appointed BC Ramesh as the new head coach. The local guy brings great expectations for the fans as he has found big success with his previous two franchises. They are likely to dictate the auction as they might have the biggest purse and could do a serious purchase. What are the things they would like to address? Here is their possible auction strategy for PKL 12:

Need to hire a Wrecker-in-Chief

Teams that win PKL have a player who consistently outplays the opposition. Since there are many big names in the auction this time, BC Ramesh will be looking to bring some big names into the team.

The Arjuna Awardee coach loves working with youngsters and making them stars. But the arrival of a big star in the team will reduce the pressure on the youth. Pawan Sehrawat will be their primary target, who led them to their only PKL title in season six.

Given the purse they might have, they could go all-out for Mohammadreza Shadloui as well. The Iranian and BC Ramesh worked together in season 10 for Puneri Paltan.

Use FBM wisely and build a strong defence

One positive for the Bulls last season was the emergence of Nitin Rawal as a defender. The all-rounder was one of the top defenders last season, scoring 74 points in 22 games. They would want to use the FBM card for him. They might also be interested in bringing back Saurabh Nandal, who spent five seasons with the Bulls with great success.

If they could get these two at affordable prices using the FBM card, then their corner problem would be solved. They could make big moves to buy quality cover defenders who can demolish the opposition.

Mahender Singh and Surjeet Singh are two familiar names of the Bulls who could be added back to the team for the upcoming season. Coach Ramesh would want to join back with Sanket Sawant, who could be a reliable force in the defence.
