PKL 12: Top five all-rounders to watch out for in Pro Kabaddi 2025

These versatile players are going to be key for their respective teams.

The hype for the upcoming Pro Kabaddi League season 12 (PKL 12) is gathering momentum. The latest edition of the highly popular kabaddi tournament begins on 29 August 2025, featuring exceptional players both foreign and domestic.

It will be an intense competition for the trophy between the 12 participating franchises, which have made ambitious moves in the auction leading up to the 12th edition of the Pro Kabaddi League. Plenty of eyes will be on key players, especially the all-rounders who are central to each team’s success. Their contribution in both attack and defence plays a significant role in winning kabaddi matches that can propel a team to ultimate glory.

Focusing on the all-rounders, here are the top five to watch out for in the upcoming PKL 12:

Pawan Sehrawat (Tamil Thalaivas)

Pawan Sehrawat is one of the most experienced players heading into the 12th PKL season, where he’ll represent the Tamil Thalaivas. Popularly known as the “Hi Flyer”, he can hurt any opposition single-handedly. While his main contribution comes from raiding, he can surprise any opposing raider with well-timed tackles, too.

Pawan Sehrawat has a total of 1388 points in 139 matches in the Pro Kabaddi League. Last season, he had a 31% tackle success rate, which shows that he can contribute in defence as well.

Aslam Inamdar (Puneri Paltan)

Puneri Paltan were extremely unlucky to lose their key figure in Aslam Inamdar for the whole season due to a long-term injury during the 11th season of the PKL. He is their captain and leads by example, thwarting opposition players in both attack and defence.

Aslam Inamdar was instrumental in helping the Puneri Paltan win the 10th season of the Pro Kabaddi League, where he scored 168 total points. Heading into the 12th campaign, a fit Inamdar could be the difference maker once again.

Amirmohammad Zafardanesh (U Mumba)

U Mumba will aim to rectify the mistakes of last season and become one of the title contenders in season 12 of the PKL. If they are to achieve success, then Amirmohammad Zafardanesh must perform on a consistent basis.

During the 11th season, Amirmohammad Zafardanesh scored 88 points in 21 matches, which included 65 raid points and 23 tackle points respectively. His all-around display makes him one of the foreigners to watch out for in PKL 12.

Vijay Malik (Telugu Titans)

Vijay Malik is one of the finest all-rounders in the Pro Kabaddi League. His leadership and consistency make him an ideal player who can make a difference. He will be the captain of the team in the upcoming season after impressing in the role in Pro Kabaddi League 11.

Vijay Malik scored 183 points in 22 matches last season. Telugu Titans will hope that the all-rounder can replicate his performances of the past campaign into the new term.

Mohammadreza Shadloui (Gujarat Giants)

Gujarat Giants made the biggest statement in the auction after securing Mohammadreza Shadloui for ₹2.23 crore, the highest bid of PKL Season 12. He has also been made the captain of the side, which is an exciting prospect altogether.

Mohammadreza Shadloui has won the Pro Kabaddi League title in the last two campaigns with Puneri Paltan and Haryana Steelers, respectively. Gujarat Giants will hope that the Iranian all-rounder makes a hat-trick of PKL wins.
