PKL 12: Vizag likely to host opening leg of Pro Kabaddi 2025

PKL 12 is set to begin in less than 40 days.

The excitement of Kabaddi fans is on the verge of its peak as the 12th season of the second most successful league in India is about to arrive. Pro Kabaddi League 12 (PKL 12) will commence on August 29, 2025.

According to the sources, the opening leg of the upcoming PKL season will be held in Vizag. On the other hand, Vizag is likely to host PKL matches for the first time since 2018. It was in Season 3 when Vizag conducted the opening clash of the season.

The venues haven’t been announced yet. However, according to the sources, the season will be held in four cities instead of the three-city format in PKL 11. Vizag, Jaipur, Chennai, and New Delhi could be the four cities to host PKL 12.

While talking with The Hindu, Telugu Titans CEO Trinadh Reddy disclosed, “Both Vizag and Hyderabad are treated as our home grounds. After 2018, there has been no PKL in Vizag. Keeping that in mind, we wanted to have it there this time.”

He further added, “The TRPs (Target Rating Points) that we get from both Telugu States are very high. Keeping that in mind, we moved from Hyderabad to Vizag this year. The Port Indoor Stadium will be the venue there.”

With Vizag conducting the opening leg, it will be the second consecutive time a Telugu State will host the first leg, as Hyderabad did in Season 11. On that note, let’s take a look at the cities that hosted the opening match in each season.
