Why have Puneri Paltan dropped several players tonight?
Puneri Paltan have dropped skipper Aslam Inamdar, defenders Gaurav Khatri & Vishal Bhardwaj, raider Mohit Goyat, and all-rounder Gurdeep from their starting lineup for the match against the Telugu Titans.
A few other key players are named in the substitutes and might get some game time on Saturday. Raiders Aditya Shinde, Pankaj Mohite, and defender Abhinesh Nadarajan are part of the substitutes list.
Puneri Paltan head coach Ajay Thakur stated that the franchise will rest their senior and regular players for the remaining matches to prevent injuries and give players enough rest and recovery time ahead of the PKL 2025 playoffs.
He also added that the team will give opportunities to the youngsters and other players who haven’t had enough game time so far this season.
Puneri Paltan have two league stage matches remaining this season. They are taking on the Telugu Titans on Saturday (October 18) and will lock horns with Patna Pirates on Sunday (October 19) before ending their group stage campaign.
The Pune-based franchise will be back in action on Monday, October 27, against Dabang Delhi in Qualifier 1 of PKL 2025.
