PKL 12: Why did Mohammadreza Shadloui miss tonight's clash against Bengaluru Bulls?

Mohammadreza Shadloui hasn’t been up to the mark in PKL 12.
The Bengaluru Bulls are taking on the Gujarat Giants in match 106 of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12) at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium in Delhi, on Thursday, October 23.
The Bulls are currently placed third in the PKL 2025 points table with 20 points from 17 matches, having won 10 games and lost seven. They have a score difference of 69 thus far in the ongoing edition of the Pro Kabaddi League.
Meanwhile, the Gujarat Giants are 10th in the standings with 12 points and a score difference of -45 from 17 encounters. They have registered six wins and 11 losses so far this season.
The Giants’ final league stage encounter is a must-win for them to secure a spot in the PKL 2025 play-ins. They need to defeat the Bengaluru-based franchise by a high margin. Patna Pirates and UP Yoddhas will also have to lose their respective matches for the Gujarat-based franchise to qualify for the next round.
Gujarat Giants are without the services of their star all-rounder Mohammadreza Shadloui for this all-important clash. On that note, let’s take a look at why the Iranian player is not playing today:
Why is Mohammadreza Shadloui not playing against Bengaluru Bulls?
Mohammadreza Shadloui is not playing the Gujarat Giants’ last match against Bengaluru Bulls. The reason for his exclusion is that the Iranian all-rounder suffered an ankle injury in the previous game. He is yet to recover from the same.
The Iranian player picked up an injury during his franchise’s encounter against the Haryana Steelers two days ago. He was subbed off after having earned two tackle points. The all-rounder ended the match with one unsuccessful raid, two successful tackles, and one unsuccessful tackle.
The Gujarat Giants coach mentioned that Mohammadreza Shadloui will play the last match if he’s only fit. Thus, it’s confirmed that the all-rounder hasn’t recovered from his injury and justifies his absence.
Mohammadreza Shadloui has earned 65 points (37 tackle points and 28 raid points) in 17 matches so far in the 12th edition of the Pro Kabaddi League. In the defensive front, he has two Super Tackles and as many High 5s to his name.
