Top five players with most High-5's in PKL Season 8

The list also features players who had their first PKL season.

The 8th season of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) has come to an end. The final match of the league saw Patna Pirates taking on Dabang Delhi. In this thrilling match, Delhi defeated Patna Pirates by one point and lifted the title for the first time. Patna's team reached the final of the Pro Kabaddi League for the fourth time but Delhi won the title by turning the table in their favor at the last moment.

In the eighth season of PKL, the fans got to see many exciting matches, courtesy of the great performance of the players. Apart from the raiders, many defenders also impressed everyone with their game. They changed the course of the game at the very last moment. Let’s know about the five defenders who achieved the highest 5's in the last season.

5. Girish Maruti Ernak - 4

Girish Maruti of Gujarat Giants was one of the most important defenders of his team. He played 19 matches throughout the season and scored 45 tackle points in these games. During this, he also hit four high 5s, with the help of which the team of Gujarat was included in the top 5 teams of the points table. He made 120 tackles in PKL Season 8. Out of these 120, the defender had 45 successful ones. He also has a super tackle to his name. His tackle success rate in the last season was 38%.

4. Jaideep (Haryana Steelers) - 5

Having a player like Surender Nada in the defense of Haryana Steelers has had a great impact on the team's defense and young defenders. This is why the team managed to make its place in the list of best defensive teams last season. But, a majority of credit also goes to Jaideep. Last season, he played 22 matches for Haryana and was the fourth-best defender of the season by scoring 66 tackle points in these matches. He achieved a total of five high 5s last season.

3. Sombir (Puneri Paltan) - 5

Sombir of Puneri Paltan performed very well in the league stage matches of PKL Season 8. His excellent defender played an important role in helping the team reach the playoffs. Sombir played a total of 19 matches in the entire season 8, where he had five High 5s and 54 tackle points to his name. Sombir made 112 tackles last season, out of which 54 tackles were successful. He also made six super tackles during this period.

2. Sagar Rathi (Tamil Thalaivas) - 8

Tamil Thalaivas' team won very few matches last season but their defender Sagar Rathi performed very well. He was single-handedly taking care of the team's defense. Sagar played 22 matches in this season in which he scored 84 tackle points while on the other hand he also finished second in terms of taking the high 5's. He hit eight high 5s this entire season. Sagar got good support from Captain Surjit Singh in some matches. He turned many matches on his own in the direction of Tamil Thalaivas. Rathi made a total of 144 tackles out of which 74 were successful. He also made 8 super tackles during this period, while his tackle success rate was 52%.

1. Mohammadreza Chiyaneh (Patna Pirates) - 10

At the top of this list is Mohammadreza Chiyaneh of Iran. No raider could a way through his defense. He was participating in the Pro Kabaddi League for the first time. In his debut season itself, the defender performed brilliantly for Patna Pirates and played a key role in sailing their boat to the finals. He scored the most tackle points during the season 8. He also hit ten high 5s in 24 matches. Mohammadreza made 153 tackles in the last season, out of which 86 of his tackles were successful while he failed in 67. He also made three super tackles and had a tackle success rate of 56%.
