PKL: Patna Pirates probable starting seven for upcoming season

The raiding department of the three-time champion team is weak this time.

Patna had finished the previous season in first place after the league stage but in the final they had to face defeat by one point against Dabang Delhi. Patna, the most successful team of the league, will try to dominate in the ninth season. Patna Pirates have won the PKL title three times (Season 3, 4 and 5) so far.

During the upcoming 9th season of Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), the look of Patna Pirates has changed a bit. The reason for this is that many old players have left the team and new faces have been given a place in the team. At the same time, coach Ram Meher Singh, who made the team champion, will also not be with Patna. In such a situation, the team of Patna will enter the field with new flavors. 

Patna Pirates bought quite a handful of players during the PKL auction last month.  They roped in players like Rohit, Manish, Anuj Kumar, Naveen Sharma, Ranjit Nayak, Shivam Chaudhary, Sunil, Sushil Gulia and Vishwas S. Apart from this, they had already retained veteran defenders like Mohammadreza Chiyaneh and Sajin C. While they bought back Sachin Tanwar in the auction.

Raiders

Once again the biggest responsibility in the raiding department will be on Sachin Tanwar. Prashant Kumar Rai is not a part of the team this season and that is why Sachin Tanwar will be the main raider of the team. His performance last season was very good and for this reason he will once again be expected to perform well.

Apart from this, Rohit Gulia is also a part of the team this time and there will be a lot of burden on him too. He can play the role of second raider in the team.

The raiding department is looking a bit weak compared to last season. That's why Sachin and Rohit will have to perform more than expected. Apart from this, Sushil Gulia can be included in the team of Patna Pirates as the third raider. Last season he was a part of Jaipur Pink Panthers but he did not get many chances. 

Defenders

Mohammadreza Shadlu took the most tackle points last season. Seeing his strong performance, Patna has retained him. Shadlu plays very well on the left corner and Patna will hope that he does well this season as well. Neeraj also impressed a lot last season. Sajin Chandrasekhar will also be an important part of the defence.

He played an important role in strengthening Patna's defense last season along with Mohammadreza Shadlu. If Patna Pirates have to win the title this season, then their defense is going to be the trump card once again.
