For the first time in PKL history, any raider was sold for more than ₹2 crores.

Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 9 auction was a superhit with iconic players from all the categories being sold. While some franchises opted to build a fresh team, many chose to retain their prime players. There were some exceptional buys in the auction that lasted over two days. Here we are today with the list of the top five raiders sold in the auction:

5. Sachin Tanwar (Rs84 lakhs to Patna Pirates)

Sachin Tanwar is a remarkable raider who went for a whopping ₹84 lakhs to the Patna Pirates. He did exceptionally well for the same team in Season 8 as well. Tanwar earned 181 points, including five Super 10s, in the previous edition, which eventually became the reason for gaining him back. By releasing him during the retention time, several eyebrows were raised because of his exceptional skills and past records, but Patna Pirates made a smart decision to get him back. Sachin Tanwar becomes one of the highest-paid raiders in the PKL 9 auction.

4. Pardeep Narwal (Rs90 lakhs to UP Yoddhas)

Any Kabaddi-related article is incomplete without Pardeep Narwal, as he has that kind of reputation in this major sport. Even in the PKL 9 auction, he grabbed all the attention by getting ₹90 lakhs from the purse of UP Yoddhas once again. Narwal’s bid was going for around 60 lakhs before Gujarat Giants increased it to 90 lakhs in the middle to get the Kabaddi legend. Even this smart move couldn’t help the Giants to get the services of Pardeep as the Yoddhas opted for the Final Bid Match (FBM) to retain their iconic player.

3. Guman Singh (Rs1.22 crores to U Mumba)

It came as a little surprise for every Kabaddi fan when Guman Singh went for this astonishing amount to U Mumba. His Season 8 performance was not up to the mark, but U Mumba signed him for the massive amount due to his ability to handle pressure situations. Usually, he goes on do-or-die raids and often returns with points. His services would be quite important for U Mumba to make a dream comeback.

2. Vikash Kandola (Rs1.70 crores to Bengaluru Bulls)

One of the most special players of all time, Vikash Kandola, was the hot choice for the franchises at the auction. The bidding was nearly unstoppable for the former Haryana Steelers player, but in the end, it was the Bengaluru Bulls who won this magnificent deal. They paid a very high price of ₹1.70 crores for him to ensure that their raiding issues do not arise during the season. Vikash Kandola played for the Steelers in the past and has always given them an edge over the others while raiding. A similar performance is expected from the raiding machine in the upcoming season.

1. Pawan Sehrawat (Rs2.26 crores to Tamil Thalaivas)

A bid of ₹2.26 crores shows how big of a player is Pawan Sehrawat, who stunned the whole nation with his whopping amount, went to Tamil Thalaivas for the upcoming season for a giant deal of ₹2.26 crores. Thalaivas, who had a terrible last season, would have really wanted to have Pawan in the auctions. It seemed like they were ready to give him their whole purse amount. The Kabaddi-star could probably be the only one who can save Tamil Thalaivas in the upcoming season. He was the most valuable player in Season 6 and won the best raider award in Season 7 and 8 respectively.
