Tamil Thalaivas and Puneri Paltan start their PKL 12 campaign with a win.

The Pro Kabaddi League 12 (PKL 12) started with exciting matches. The 12th edition of the most prestigious and high-profile Kabaddi league began at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Visakhapatnam.

In the first match, Tamil Thalaivas put up a strong and entertaining performance against their arch-rivals, Telugu Titans, and secured a win. Pawan Sehrawat and Arjun Deshwal combined really well to take the Thalaivas over the line against the Titans.

If the first game did not live up to its billing, the second game ticked all the boxes in terms of drama and entertainment. The game was always neck and neck, with both teams fighting back to secure points before reaching the first tie-breaker of PKL 12.

Puneri Paltan nailed it at the very end with Vishal Bharadwaj securing a match-winning tackle to win the first game for his side.

At the end of the first day, Tamil Thalaivas have claimed the first position with two points to their name. Puneri Paltan are ranked second after beating the Bulls in a nail-biting encounter.

Meanwhile, Bengaluru Bulls are placed 11th, and the Telugu Titans find themselves at the bottom of the table. On the other hand, Bengal Warriorz, Dabang Delhi, Gujarat Titans, Haryana Steelers, Jaipur Pink Panthers, Patna Pirates, U Mumba, and UP Yoddhas are yet to play a game.

Top five raiders after Match 2 of PKL 12:

Arjun Deshwal has picked up from where he left off last season, but this time for the Thalaivas. Deshwal leads the charts with 12 points to his name. Bengaluru Bulls’ star boy Akash Shinde is ranked second with 12 points, while Puneri Paltan’s star raider Aditya Shinde is placed third with nine points.

Pawan Sehrawat has accumulated four points and is positioned fourth, and Bharat Hooda completes the top five with nine points.

Ankush Rathee leads the way with five tackle points, followed by the ever-present Gaurav Khatri, who also managed a high-five in the opening game. Shubham Shinde is placed third with four tackle points, while Himanshu has accumulated three tackle points and is ranked fourth.

The fifth position is held by Bengaluru Bulls’ star defender Sanjay Dhull, who has scored three tackle points so far.
