[WATCH] PKL legend Deepak Hooda beaten by wife Saweety Boora in police station

Former Kabaddi star Deepak Hooda’s wife accused him of dowry harassment in February.

In a disturbing turn of events, former Pro Kabaddi League winner and Indian skipper Deepak Hooda was beaten by his wife Saweety Boora inside a Police Station. Saweety represented India in Boxing and filed a complaint against her husband Deepak Hooda, accusing him of Harassment due to Dowry.

On February 25, a complaint was lodged at the women’s police station in Hisar, Haryana, and an FIR was registered against the former captain of the Indian men’s Kabaddi team. When this news broke, fans were disappointed to hear what happened between these two.

After the intervention of their friends, both decided to attend counseling sessions and one was scheduled to take place at the Mahila Thana station. Leading up to the session, Saweety Boora organised a Press Conference and vented out many allegations against Deepak Hooda. She confessed to having unsuccessfully had suicide attempts due to consistent abuse.

She reiterated her stance on seeking a divorce from her husband and said that she does not want any alimony from him. The Boxer alleged that her husband didn’t want to give her a divorce. Tensions went a notch higher on Monday as both were in the same room for a counseling session at the Hisar Police Station.

After arguments, Saweety started attacking Deepak before the relatives stopped the ruckus and separated them. It is disheartening to see two Indian athletes having achieved great things Professionally, have put their personal life in doldrums. Both are Arjuna Awardees, the highest sporting honor in India.

The last few years have been very difficult for Deepak as he lost the captaincy of the Indian team and his place in the national team. He also went unsold in the PKL auctions despite being one of the leading all-rounders of the game. He tried his hand in politics as he was fielded as a candidate in the Haryana Assembly elections but unfortunately lost it. The Indian fans would be hoping to see peace return to the lives of both these individuals.
