PKL: Top 10 defenders with most tackle points in Pro Kabaddi League history
Fazel Atrachali leads the list of most tackle points.
The Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) has showcased some of the most skilled defenders in the sport’s history. They have contributed immensely to their team’s success over the years and have even driven them to the title. In the game of Kabaddi, defenders are called the wall of the team, that is why the victory or defeat of the team depends on their performance.
Fazel Atrachali known as “Sultan”, has earned his status as the leading tackle point scorer in PKL history. The Iranian defender recently achieved 500 tackle points, becoming the first defender to touch this figure. Fazal made this record in PKL 11 against defending champions Puneri Paltan.
Following him, Surjeet Singh, known for his reliability on the right cover, has 410 tackle points and currently plays for Jaipur Pink Panthers. 10. Vishal Bhardwaj – 324 points
Despite shockingly going unsold at the PKL 11 auction, Vishal Bhardwaj finds himself in the list of defenders with the most tackle points in PKL with 324 tackle points to his name from 118 games. Vishal had plied his trade in teams like Telugu Titans, and Dabang Delhi KC. Known as the ankle breaker, his best performance came in season 5 with the Telugu Titans where he scored 71 points in 22 matches.
9. Sandeep Kumar Dhull – 328 points
Known for his relentless defensive approach, Sandeep has accumulated 328 tackle points in the league. Representing teams like Jaipur Pink Panthers and Dabang Delhi K.C., he is lauded for his tackling consistency on the left corner. His best performance came in season 6 with Jaipur Pink Panthers where he scored 74 points in 22 matches.
8. Ravinder Pahal – 339 points
Popularly called “The Hawk” for his sharp defensive reflexes, Pahal has a career total of 339 tackle points. His journey includes representing teams like Dabang Delhi K.C., Bengaluru Bulls, and Puneri Paltan. His reputation for aggressive tackles has earned him a permanent place among PKL’s elite defenders. His best season was with Dabang Delhi back in 2018 when he scored 63 points in 23 games.
7. Sunil Kumar – 343 points
With 343 tackle points, U Mumba captain Sunil Kumar has made a name for himself in the ranks of PKL. His reliable performances for Gujarat Giants in previous seasons show his adept tackling skills and his impact on the team from the cover position. His best performance came in season 7 with Gujarat Giants where he collected 76 points in 25 games.

6. Nitesh Kumar – 360 points
The Bengal Warriorz stalwart, Nitesh Kumar was the first PKL player to achieve 100 tackle points in a single season back in 2017 with UP Yoddhas. Over the years Nitesh has amassed 360 tackle points to his name in 133 games.
5. Sandeep Narwal – 360 points
With a remarkable 360 tackle points in 156 games, UP Yoddhas star Sandeep Narwal is a versatile defender and all-rounder. Known for his aggressive playstyle, he has played for Patna Pirates, Telugu Titans, and Dabang Delhi.
4. Girish Maruti Ernak – 362 points
Veteran defender and former U Mumba player, Girish Maruti Ernak has accumulated 362 tackle points over the seasons. His previous contributions to teams like Puneri Paltan and Gujarat Giants emphasize his effectiveness in the left corner, making him a feared opponent in defence.
3. Manjeet Chhillar – 391 points
With 391 tackle points in 132 games, PKL stalwart Manjeet Chhillar is celebrated for his all-round gameplay. Having represented Bengaluru Bulls, Jaipur Pink Panthers, and Tamil Thalaivas, his tactical prowess saw him become one of the best players in PKL.
2. Surjeet Singh – 415 points
With 415 tackle points, Surjeet is a force to reckon with on the right cover, now playing for Jaipur Pink Panthers. His time with Puneri Paltan and Tamil Thalaivas cemented his reputation as a reliable force in defence.
1. Fazel Atrachali – 500 points
Leading the tackle points tally with 500 points from 173 matches, the Iranian powerhouse Fazel Atrachali, is currently leading Bengal Warriorz in PKL 11. He has been a cornerstone in PKL defence. Fazel became the first player in the history of PKL to achieve the same.
His contributions across teams, including U Mumba, Patna Pirates, and Gujarat Giants, have made him one of the most respected defenders in the league. His peak performance was in PKL 7 back in 2019 where he scored 84 points in 24 matches.
