Women's Kabaddi World Cup: List of all winners

The Women’s Kabaddi World Cup is the biggest tournament for women’s Kabaddi. It features nations from around the world participating and competing for the prestigious trophy. This is the pinnacle of the game, and every team wants to win it.
The Men’s Kabaddi World Cup first began in 2004, and has had three editions, all of which have been won by the Indian Kabaddi team. After the success of the Men’s Kabaddi World Cup, the first Women’s Kabaddi World Cup was held in Patna in 2012, and it was recognised by the International Kabaddi Federation (IKF).
It was organised by the Government of Bihar and the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India, with 16 nations participating. The second edition of the Women’s Kabaddi World Cup took place in Dhaka, Bangladesh, after 13 years, marking the first time the tournament was held outside India.
A total of 11 teams participated in this edition and competed for the trophy. On that note, let’s have a look at the winners’ list of the Women’s Kabaddi World Cup.
Women’s Kabaddi World Cup Winners-
1. India – 2012
The inaugural Women’s Kabaddi World Cup was won by the Indian Kabaddi Team in 2012. The tournament took place at the Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna, and the Indian team remained unbeaten, winning all of their matches.
They dominated the group stage, defeating strong teams like South Korea, Chinese Taipei, and Mexico. In the quarter-final, they comfortably beat Indonesia with a scoreline of 66-20.
They continued their excellent form in the semi-final as well, where they defeated Japan one-sidedly 59-20. In the Final, they faced a strong Iranian team.
It was a tough and closely fought contest, but the Indian team held their nerves and emerged victorious by 25-19, creating history by lifting the inaugural Women’s Kabaddi World Cup.
2. India – 2025

The Indian women’s kabaddi team defended their World Cup title in 2025, winning the trophy for the second consecutive time. The tournament was held in Dhaka, Bangladesh, marking the first time the Women’s Kabaddi World Cup was hosted outside India.
The Indian team won all their group stage matches and finished at the top of the table. They continued their unbeaten run by defeating Iran in a close semi-final encounter. In the final, they faced Chinese Taipei, who were also unbeaten before entering the match.
Chinese Taipei had lost the Asian Games final to India by just one point and were aiming for revenge. However, India did not let that happen and registered yet another victory against Taipei in a thrilling contest, winning 35–28 and successfully defending their title as World Champions.

India defeated Chinese Taipei 35-28 in the final to lift the title.
