Khelo India Para Games 2023 will kick of on 10th December.

The first-ever Khelo India Para Games (KIPG) will kick off in New Delhi on December 10, showcasing the talent and spirit of the Indian para athletes. The event, which will run till December 17, is expected to attract over 1350 participants from across 32 states and union territories, including Services Sports Control Board.

The Khelo India Para Games 2023 will feature seven disciplines: para athletics, para shooting, para archery, para football, para badminton, para table tennis and para weightlifting. The competitions will be held at three SAI stadiums: the IG Stadium, Shooting Range in Tughlaqabad and the JLN Stadium.

The Khelo India Para Games is the latest addition to the government of India’s Khelo India initiative, which aims to promote sports at the grassroots levels in the country. The initiative, launched in 2018, has so far organised 11 events, including five Khelo India Youth Games, three Khelo India University Games and three Khelo India Winter Games.

The Games will also be a stepping stone for many para athletes who aspire to represent India at the international level, especially at the upcoming Paralympic Games 2024. The event will also help in creating awareness and recognition for para sports in India, as well as fostering a culture of inclusion and accessibility in sports.

The KIPG will be available on live streaming and live telecast in India, allowing the fans and viewers to witness the historic event and cheer for their favourite para athletes. The event will also be covered by various media outlets, who will highlight the achievements and stories of the participants.
