Top five goals in AFC Asian Cup 2019

The competition witnessed several jaw-dropping moments as some of the goals were struck with utmost finesse.
The latest edition of the AFC Asian Cup in the UAE, which recently came to a conclusion, saw Qatar getting the better of Japan in the final and therefore, winning the tournament for the first time ever. The tournament saw several heartbreaking moments as some rather big teams in the continent, were shockingly knocked out.
Yet, the Asian Cup didn’t fail to produce top drawer goals and some of them were actually struck beautifully, giving pure joy to each and every spectator.
Here are the top five strikes of the AFC Asian Cup 2019:
5. Tsukasa Shiotani Vs Uzbekistan

The Uzbeks erroneously served Tsukasa Shiotani a tempting shot outside the box and the centre-back drove it well to hand a 2-1 victory to the Japanese. The centre-back’s strike completed a comeback for the Blue Samurai, as they had trailed by a goal in the 40th minute after Eldor Shomurodov put the White Wolves ahead.
However, Yoshinori Muto equalized after just three minutes and the two sides entered into half-time with the scores level. Shiotani’s strike in the 58th minute ensured the Japanese finished as group winners.
4. Mohanad Ali Vs Yemen

The teenager drew the attention of many when he scored a superb solo goal after rounding about five Yemeni players, including the goalkeeper. Mohanad’s strike came just 11 minutes into the game as he opened the scoring for Iraq.
The game ended in a routine 3-0 win for the Iraqis as they brushed past hapless Yemen and finished second in their group, following a goalless draw against first-placed Iran. The team was eventually knocked out by champions Qatar in the Round of 16 and Mohanad’s goal will definitely be one to remember from their journey in the Asian Cup.
3. Baha’ Abdel-Rahman Vs Vietnam

The veteran Jordanian midfielder scored a Toni Kroos-esque free-kick, when he netted the opening goal in a thrilling game against Vietnam. However, Baha’s wonderful strike in the first half was cancelled out by the Vietnamese and the game went to penalties. In the penalties, Baha’ again scored from the spot as he took the first kick.
However to his misfortune, Jordan missed two consecutive penalties while their Vietnamese counterparts capitalised on it. Thus, the game ended with a 4-2 victory in the shootout for Vietnam and all of Baha’s efforts went in vain, as Jordan were knocked out from the Round of 16.

2. Arslanmyrat Amanow Vs Japan

The 28-year-old midfielder scored from an absolute thunderbolt of a strike during a disappointing loss to Japan. Amanow’s goal was the opener in a thrilling 3-2 win for the Japanese.
The Lokomotiv Tashkent player was pretty ambitious as he struck from a distance after finding huge space and time to look at goal. The Turkmen put so much power behind the shot that he left the Japanese goalkeeper helpless.

The 22-year-old forward had all the time in the world to control the ball, but he struck it with such precision that even the greatest goalkeepers in the world would have found it difficult to keep it out.
Almoez’s strike was the opener in the final which ended 3-1 in favour of Qatar. The young striker has certainly shown a glimpse of his amazing talent in the tournament and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him signed by a European club in the coming years.
