Elsewhere Cristiano Ronaldo is still goalless for his new side Juventus in Italy.

European Football continued its customary run, with all five major leagues running at full pace, knocking goals from everywhere and in every way. Standing on the brink of the international break, the teams cut loose to go for a week-off on a high with many succeeding and a few stumbling on the way.

But, before that, the UEFA Champions League groups were also revealed and the elite competition will start after the next gameweek. In this article, we at Khel Now will take you through a weekly roundup of the top leagues in Italy, Spain, France, and Germany (for the Premier League roundup click here).

Serie A

Juventus are already taking the lead but their star signing, Cristiano Ronaldo is still far shy from his maiden goal for the Old Lady. Having won all their three games, they are the only team in Italy's top division to have a perfect record. Sassoulo, last season's mid-table team, are cruising just behind the league leaders, winning two and drawing one so far.

Visiting Parma is never an easy task and Juventus' result is a testament of that. Mario Mandzukic opened the scoring in just 120 seconds, but Parma equalised just after half an hour of being behind. The winner came from Blaise Matuidi, who hit home from point-blank range after a swift display of footwork and close-knit passing.

Meanwhile, AC Milan returned to winning ways after a close bout against AS Roma. Milan, are having a tough time of this campaign. After having their opening game postponed, they lost to Napoli in Gameweek 2 and frantically won their game against Roma, five minutes deep into injury time, something that would feature as a highlight of their campaign.

The result that came out of nowhere was Sampdoria runnig amok against Napoli, scoring three, conceding none. Napoli were on cloud 9 after thumping Milan and the days under Carlo Ancelotti seemed to e entering another highlight chapter in their cherished history, but this result may hinder their league progress.

Atlanta, SPAL and Fiorentina look promising right now, but the top quarter of the league will become clearer after the international break.

La Liga

Spain's top tier has had rather straightforward proceedings with expected results. Playing their third fixture, Barcelona's way to three points was a cakewalk, especially in the second half. Lionel Messi and Co. netted eight goals against Huesca. Messi and Luis Suarez stuck two, Ousmane Dembele, Ivan Rakitic and Jordi Alba stuck one each with the eighth one being an own-goal.

Keeping up with their El Clasico rivals and adapting to life without Zinedine Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid defeated Leganes at home. It seems like the absence of Ronaldo is helping Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale, who have consistently been on the scoresheet since his departure.

Atletico Madrid, considered as the third horse in the title race, are currently stuck in the middle of the table after having lost to Celta Vigo. They were trailing by a two-goal deficit when Stefan Savic deliberately committed a handball and was shown the red card.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are the only clubs to have not lost a game until now. While Barcelona lost only one game last season, it will be interesting to see how they push on in this campaign.

Bundesliga

Bayern Munich kept their winning run going with a classic Bavarian display of football. Starting his first game, Leon Goretzka opened the scoring through an assist from club captain Thomas Muller, who went on to score the third and the final goal of that very game.

Elsewhere, heavyweights Borussia Dortmund were disappointing by their own standards, ending the game against Hannover in a draw after a tough bout on the field. Bayern Munich, Wolfsburg and Hertha Berlin are keeping it tight at the top with a successful start to the season.

Ligue 1

Giants PSG had to do it the hard way in a 2-4 victory over Nimes. Neymar opened the scoring in the 36th minute, followed by Angel Di Maria's goal which doubled the lead just before halftime.

In the second half, Nimes were all square in the 71st minute, but it did not take long for Kylian Mbappe to get his team back in the lead, only to later stumble onto the heated tackle by Teji Savanier and be sent off in the final minute of the game.

Monaco lost to Marseille, 2-3, Radamel Falcao was on the scoresheet. Mario Balotelli's side Nice ran past Lyon quite comfrotably as well.
