Custodian Pawan Kumar was one of the brighter performers in this exciting ISL fixture.

NorthEast United held on to a comfortable 0-2 win against FC Pune City at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Pune. Bartholomew Ogbeche opened the scoring for the Highlanders and Juan Mascia scored from the spot to hand his side yet another away success.

Watch: Pune City 0-2 NorthEast United

Here are our ratings of the Indian players:

FC Pune City

Kamaljit Singh- 6.0

Watch: Kamaljit made a spectacular save to deny a Ogbeche effort

The 22-year-old pulled off a brilliant save in the 22nd minute to deny Ogbeche. However, the Frenchman still managed to score just a couple of minutes later from a corner. He was also helpless when Mascia scored the late penalty.

Gurtej Singh- 6.5

Pretty strong in the first half, as he made a couple of blocks, while maintaining a 93% pass accuracy. Gurtej was the Stallions’ second best player after Adil Khan on the night and he was very solid in defence as well as being good while passing the ball too.

Sahil Panwar- 5.5

The left-back wasn’t too troubled in the first half by the Highlanders. Nevertheless, Panwar created a great chance for Iain Hume in the 34th minute. He was hapless in the second half as he lost possession on a couple of occasions. He also conceded a late penalty for a clear foul that earned him a yellow card.

Ashique Kuruniyan- 6.0

Watch: The youngster had a piledriver of an effort denied by Pawan Kumar

As usual, Ashique was great with the ball, but should improve his passing accuracy having just 33% in the first half. The 19-year-old certainly played his part in the attack and created a very good chance as he crossed the ball excellently inside the box in the 63rd minute, but there was no one to finish it off.

Robin Singh- 5.0

Robin had a pretty hit and miss game, as he was involved in most of the chances the Stallions created in the first half. However, he just couldn’t provide the breakthrough for his team. Although, he also created a couple of good opportunities for Hume and Marcelinho. Shifted to the #9 role later in the second half and was completely pocketed by the NorthEast defence.

Ashutosh Mehta- 6.0

Ashutosh had a very good start to the game as he looked solid while defending. The right-back did well in the second half too, but earned a yellow card for a bad tackle in the 61st minute.

Adil Khan- 7.5

Like Ashutosh, Adil too had a strong start to the game, as he pulled off three crucial tackles along with a block and a clearance in the first half. His passing was pretty good too with 81% accuracy. The defensive midfielder was the Stallions’ best player on the pitch, as he went on to make eight tackles and an interception in the game. Unfortunately for him, his teammates couldn’t take advantage of his great form.

Substitutions

Jakob Vanlalhimpuia- NA

Came on in the 90th minute to replace Ashutosh, but it was too late for him to even get a touch of the ball.

Nikhil Poojary- NA

Came on for Marcelinho in the 80th minute and tried his best to provide opportunities in attack, but by then NorthEast had taken control of the game.

Pawan Kumar- 7.0

Watch: The NEUFC custodian was in top form

Pawan played a great part in NorthEast’s defending in the first half with a couple of superb saves. The keeper wasn’t too troubled in the second half as he made some easy saves and collections. He deservedly earned his clean-sheet.

Reagan Singh- 6.5

The right-back had a busy first half as Ashique was very good with the ball. However, Reagan did a good job to keep the winger at bay. He played a decent part in his side’s comfortable win.

Redeem Tlang- 6.0

Redeem looked pretty active in the first half, as he paired up well with Ogbeche and Federico Gallego in the attacking third. He was lucky while making a clearance from a Marcelinho corner, as the ball visibly hit his hand inside the box. Redeem was equally good in the second half, as he helped out well in attack too. Was eventually substituted in the 60th minute as Lalthathanga came in.

Rowllin Borges- 7.5

The India international was a key man for the Highlanders in the midfield as he showed some good distribution skills and kept possession well. While maintaining an 81% passing accuracy, Borges also helped out well in defence having made four tackles and three clearances.

Gurwinder Singh- 6.5

Gurwinder had a quiet first half, yet managed to make four good clearances. He played fairly well as he maintained an 89% passing accuracy. The defender also made six clearances, two interceptions and three blocks.

Keegan Pereira- 6.5

Like Gurwinder, Keegan to played his part silently, but effectively with three clearances and an equal number of tackles.

Substitutes

Lalthathanga- 5.5

Replaced Redeem in the 60th minute and quickly settled into the game as he kept possession well and his passes were accurate too.

Provat Lakra- 6.0

Came on to replace Reagan in the 72nd minute and played really well on the right flank. Although, he did earn a yellow card soon after coming on, he looked pretty solid while defending.
