The Welsh winger has failed to kick-on following Cristiano Ronaldo's departure from the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid after conquering Europe for back to back three seasons are facing a dry spell this season until now. Former manager Zinedine Zidane's departure came as a shock and it was followed by the move of the season when talisman Cristiano Ronaldo left the club for Juventus.

Since then, Julen Lopetegui came in and could not live up to the expectations for a club which is so huge in stature. The current manager, Santiago Solari is looking to rebuild the flaws in the side this season and have salvaged some pride with a short spell of wins for the Los Blancos.

Gareth Bale who instantly became the man to fill Cristiano's boots has also somewhat fallen short of the expectations the fans had in him. The Welshman seems satisfied in the Spanish capital but his agent has not denied a possibility of a move in the transfer window.

Despite telling Italian outlet Tuttosport that Bale is enjoying in Madrid, his agent Jonathan Barnett also said that there is a possibility that his client may leave in future.

"Gareth is very happy at Real Madrid, but if we're talking about the future then nothing is impossible in the transfer market.

"Ronaldo was an important loss for Real Madrid. Gareth loved playing with Cristiano, but he's happy because he's at a top club. It's true that since CR7 arrived the foreign superstars are starting to consider Serie A and start looking at it in a different way compared to the last years."

Bale, who is 29 years old, was touted to be the main man for the Los Blancos after Ronaldo's departure from the Spanish capital. The move was more supported when Bale took responsibility and scored twice which also included a splendid bicycle kick goal in the UEFA Champions League final last season.

Although the former Tottenham man has not looked the same since then. In 17 appearances the 29-year old has scored six goals along with five assists and his last goal in La Liga coming way back on the start of September.

Considering the fact that the club trusted in his abilities to fill the void left by Cristiano, he has failed miserably in that aspect. Inconsistency in his play and lack of goals have made him a frustrated figure at the club.

Football pundits all over Europe have not shied away to make remarks about the Welshman's situation in Madrid and a potential move in future.

ESPN FC's Dermot Corrigan coined his opinion on the Wales international

Bale is not Real Madrid's only underperforming player this season and which is why they find themselves sixth in the LaLiga table currently. But when to think that he was the one likely to step up and fill in for the goals which Ronaldo had for the Los Blancos over the years.

The 29-year old has spent most of his life under the shadow of the Portugues talisman during his time in Spain, as football writer Andrew Gaffney still believes that the Welshman has still been a key figure for the Spanish giants in their success over the years.

Bale may not be the most consistent player around but the former Spurs man is second to none when it comes to decisiveness in difficult situations, as he stepped up in the Champions League final.

The reigning European champions may not miss him on a weekly basis- if he decided to move away- considering that they are habituated to play without him due to his regular injury concerns. But the Los Blancos will surely miss his presence in crunch fixtures where a player like him can prove to be the difference for one side.
