Minerva Punjab FC on a signing spree, rope in talented foreigner from Middlesbrough
Minerva Punjab joined I-league last year and played the premier league with a side full of youngsters.
The Ghanaian youngster sealed a switch to the Chandigarh based club Minerva Punjab FC for the upcoming Hero I-League season rumoured to begin in the first week of November.
William Opoku Asiedu comes with a rich experience of playing in Ghanian Division One for Tafo based Okyeman Planners FC where the Accra-born player scored 11 league goals for Okyeman Planners FC in Division One last season. His outstanding performance for the home club was rewarded as former English Premier League Middlesbrough FC Academy's Head of Recruitment Thiago Cruz spotted the youngster during his visit to clubs in Ghana as part of a long-term project to build scouting networks and partnerships in West Africa.

On a successful trial at the Academy, the youngster impressed the Boro's staff and was signed on a long-term deal before the transfer window closed on 2nd February 2017.
William Opoku Asiedu was then loaned out to Estonian giants FC Levadia Tallinn for 18 months for more game time under the observation of English club staff who will monitor his progress.

Meantime, With the addition of William Opoku Asiedu, Minerva Punjab FC have now have signed 3 foreigners in total, other two being Japanese Midfielder Toshiya Hosoe and Belarusian forward Dzmitry Kowb with another 3 slots remaining.
