Mourinho should stay at Manchester United but stop moaning- Paul Scholes

The Portuguese manager’s job is at stake as United play Newcastle at Old Trafford on Saturday.
After a 3-1 loss away at West Ham, there was chaos amongst Manchester United fans all over the world, with most of them demanding manager Jose Mourinho to be sacked. A few days later, the Red Devils were again held to a disappointing draw at home by Valencia in a Champions League tie. This time, even the pundits and former United players came in and bitterly criticized the Portuguese manager for his tactics and attitude. Paul Scholes, on the other hand, has urged him to stay.
The draw meant United are yet to find a win in four consecutive games during which they also bowed out of the Carabao Cup. This is also their worst start to the league campaign in nearly three decades as they ruefully stand 10th in the table. Naturally, the pressure on Mourinho keeps on mounting with criticisms coming in from all over the world.
Paul Scholes lashed out at the manager labelling him as ‘embarrassing’. While talking with BBC Radio 5 Live, Scholes was asked if he agreed with fellow United teammate Ryan Giggs that United should stick with Mourinho, he added: “ Yes, I agree.”
In a post-match conference after the draw at Old Trafford, Mourinho lashed out at his defenders saying they lack ‘technical quality’ and ‘intensity’. Scholes had his say on the 55-year-old manager’s comments. “I’m sick of him moaning about what he hasn’t got when I think he really should be concentrating on what he has got”, stated the Englishman. “I think he’s got some real quality in the squad who are very low in confidence.”, he added.

The 43-year old, later, praised Mourinho saying, “Jose over the years has been a brilliant coach. His records suggest that, he’s been one of the very best.”
“I think I’d now like to see him stay. Take up the challenge of managing Manchester United- probably his biggest challenge, and show us what a good coach he is.”

However, two seasons later, he is yet to find a stable squad to help accomplish the club’s targets. Sharing similar views, Scholes stated, “ He (Mourinho) has no idea what his best team is, he has no idea what his best system is, and this is after over two years.”
Manchester United play Newcastle United in their game in the English Premier League and only a win will buy some relief for under-fire Mourinho.
