The 25-year-old completed a two-year long loan move to Turkish giants Besiktas on Saturday.

Under-fire Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius finally parted ways with the Anfield-based club after signing a two-year long loan deal with Turkish giants Besiktas JK. The 25-year-old German keeper faced heavy criticism after his performance in the Champions League final last season, which Liverpool lost 3-1 to Real Madrid.

To make amends, the Reds signed Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker for a then record fee of £67m from Roma, which clearly meant that the German shot-stopper will not be getting much game-time at the club this season. However, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has always stood firm in support of Karius and once again poured heaps of praise on him in a recent interview.

"We said goodbye yesterday. He’s really looking forward to it so that’s good. It’s good for him. I really think Loris is a fantastic goalkeeper and is a very good goalkeeper age."

What is the road ahead for Bayern Munich under Niko Kovac?

"A lot of people speak now about our improved defense and as good as Alisson was in the last three games, in most of the games when we were already really good and that he was not here, it was Loris in goal and he did a lot of good things," Klopp continued.

"When I saw the Besiktas team, that’s a quite experienced team. I think they have a good chance to win the league in Turkey so that’s cool," he further added.

"Now, they have a really good goalkeeper and I’m happy for him and he was very happy about that opportunity as well," Klopp asserted.

The German goalkeeper was greeted warmly by a large number of Besiktas fans on his arrival at Istanbul airport. Given the dominance of Besiktas in Turkey, the shot-stopper has a great chance of winning the Turkish league and bringing his career back on track.
