The former Brazil shot-stopper won the European treble with Nerazzurri in 2010.

Former Inter Milan custodian Julio Cesar is currently in China, looking closely at the ongoing pre-season of his former club. The Nerazzurri have already played two matches, a win against Lugano in Switzerland and a loss to Manchester United in Australia. And now they will play Juventus and PSG in the next week.

While talking to Gazzetta Dello Sport, a treble winner with the Serie A side, Cesar said, "I'm giving back to Inter what Inter gave to me. That is all. Yes, that's right: Inter changed my life. For me, this is a great source of pride. My goal is to help this club: if I can do it, so be it."

Talking about the upcoming season and the chances of the team to win the scudetto, he said, "The Scudetto? Inter is always Inter: they still deserve great respect for their history and for what has been done in the last 15 years."

Inter had appointed Antonio Conte as their head coach for the next season and are mostly active in the transfer market with the signings of Valentino Lazaro, Matteo Politano and Diego Godín among others.

Julio continued, "I think the conditions are there, the president is doing a great job. Starting well, you can fight to win the Scudetto immediately and do well in all other competitions."

The 39-year-old believes that Nerazzurri's defence is the best in Italy and hopes for them to win everything on offer.

"It's the strongest department, no other team has a defence like that. Godin, De Vrij, Skriniar, Handanovic himself: they are very important names for the team," he concluded.

And as far as the attack is concerned, he said, "Conte now needs someone to sign. I understand the technician, he has come in to bring his game philosophy and his ideas. Lukaku and Dzeko? They are two champions, they have already shown it in their career. They both like them, they are strong forwards who know how to score a lot. I don't know who will be able to arrive, one of the two, both of them. But these are high profiles ".

The Brazilian played for seven years for the Milan club, winning five straight Serie A titles along with three Copa Italias, Four Supercoppa Italiana and one each of UEFA Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup.

Julio retired in 2018 and kept a clean sheet in his last match for Flamengo.
