The Spaniard also warned that there will be 'slight' changes to the starting XI against the hosts.
In the second fixture of the Toyota Yaris La Liga World, Spanish side Girona FC trounced Melbourne City 6-0. The Catalans looked dominant throughout the game and capitalized on the opportunities they got. On the other hand, Melbourne City put up a strong fight, but were unable to get the better of a superior Girona. Following the match, Girona manager Eusebio Sacristan and midfielder Aleix Serrano met with the press.
Serrano dictated the majority of the game for Girona and he won the Man of the Match award. "I'm so happy to receive this trophy, but I think the most important thing is that we made everything together," said Serrano.
Girona's newly-appointed tactician Sacristan was asked whether he would field the same XI against Kerala Blasters and said, "Tomorrow, we'll play with the same players. The players are going to play tomorrow, but there will be slight changes."
During his time at Real Sociedad, Sacristan deployed his team in a 4-3-3 formation, but against Melbourne, he used a three-man defense. When asked whether he would switch his tactics in the coming season he said, "We'll start with 4-3-3 next season. It'll depend on how the next season goes. Depending on how the team works, I'd like to try some new formations this season. The fact that they scored six goals today is very mentally strong for them."
Portu was crucial for Girona against Melbourne and bagged a brace before he was replaced. Sacristan was asked how crucial Portu would be next season to which the 54-year-old responded, "Portu is a very important player for the team and his passion, his mentality is very important for the team."

The Girona manager was asked if the Catalan side would be targeting a European berth this season. "The goal for Girona this season is to stay in the race. We don't put any targets to them. We will try our best to do it," Sacristan asserted.
Melbourne City had a disappointing result against Girona. They were high on confidence following their victory against Kerala Blasters. However, they were outsmarted in all aspects of the game, by a much-stronger Girona side.
The Australians' gaffer Warren Joyce was obvivously disappointed, but had kind words to appreciate the visiting fans. "We had a good training week. The edition was tough for us. Some fantastic people, the fans were good, the training facilities good, the stadium is good," said Joyce.
