Frank Lampard calls for Didier Deschamps to drop N'Golo Kante in upcoming international break
The French star midfielder has been struggling with injury problems in recent times.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has called for Didier Deschamps, the manager of the French National team to drop midfield star, N’Golo Kante for the upcoming international games against Albania and Andorra.
The 28-year-old Chelsea star has struggled uncharacteristically with injury problems in recent months which has seen him miss games in the early part of the Premier League season.
Kante’s injury woes started with a hamstring injury against Watford in May and were compounded with a knee problem that he suffered in the Europa league final against Arsenal.
Frank Lampard has urged the French boss to give his player some time off to let him recuperate at the Chelsea training facilities to ensure that he was fit and ready for the upcoming months of the campaign.
‘It is a difficult one. He has had four years of constantly playing. [The] injury from the Europa League final has affected his pre-season. Then he hurt himself against Man United. ‘We are trying to get him through it. Today was too painful. The international break will be great for him to get the injury right. It would be great for everybody [if Kante stays] because he’s been playing game after game after game.’, said Lampard.
Kante played a career high 53 games for the Blues in the 2018-2019 campaign, winning the Europa League and finishing third in the Premier League in the process.
His importance to the team was highlighted in the first game of the season against Manchester United, where he could only come on off the bench, before which his team were outrun by United’s pace.

It may be best for all parties involved that Kante sits out France’s September fixtures.
