The Spanish tactician lauded his team's performance in their 2-1 win.
FC Goa defeated ATK 2-1, as three goals within a span of six minutes livened up the contest after the hour mark. Sergio Lobera spoke to the media after the match. This victory ensures that Goa are at the top of the table. The coach was asked whether he was disappointed at the team’s inability to convert their chances to present an even more convincing scoreline. [KH_ADWORDS type="3" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] He said, “I can speak about some players we can improve. I think it was a very difficult match against a very good team and the possession of the ball, the control of the game, the creation of chances and to score goals. I think, when we conceded one goal, the attitude of the team was a very good attitude. I can say about all things, the team was well.” (sic.)"My Team Deserved Win"
Neither of the teams managed to break the deadlock in the first half, but the second essay saw a flurry of chances and then a quick succession of goals. Lobera was quizzed about what he said to the players at half-time. Sergio Lobera stated, “I think the first half, maybe was a very good first half. Maybe, the best first half in this league. I have watched too many matches where you arrive with not scoring a goal and the final result is sometimes with one counter-attack, 0-1. “It is necessary, in the first half we played very well, but to continue in the same way. I think…only one mistake, to concede one goal. But, my team deserved this win. I am sure 100%. Today, FC Goa was better team than ATK.” (sic.) ATK have been one of the best teams in the competition this season and Lobera was probed about his thoughts on securing a victory in this crucial encounter. [KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News | ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW "][/KH_RELATED_NEWS] Sergio Lobera remarked, “I said before the match, that it is not about three points more. I think it is a big match against a direct opponent. I am sure it is possible for ATK to finish the season at a very good position. “It is important for the supporters, for the fans, for the club, for the players. I am very proud for all players. If today, we are at the top of the table, it is not just because of the players playing today. It is because of the whole team that continues to play, do hard work, play together and today it is possible that one to enjoy.” (sic.) FC Goa will now play a home game against Odisha FC on December 22. On the other hand, ATK will come up against Hyderabad FC a day earlier.Latest News
