Eelco Schattrie insists on the need of a win tonight

In their previous league game against Bengaluru FC last Saturday, Kerala Blasters fought hard to get a result at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium, but slumped to a narrow 1-0 defeat after Sunil Chhetri scored the winner in the second half. However, Eelco Schattorie was really pleased with the performance of his side. The former NorthEast United head coach now wants his team to keep working hard and aim for the win against FC Goa on Sunday. “We are still in survival mode. I think in the last game against Bengaluru, we did very well. Everybody put up a good show. Considering our intensity and the will to win, we were a bit unlucky, but we keep going, we keep working hard. The atmosphere is good. Tomorrow we are going for the three points,” the Dutchman asserted.

Sergio Lobera talks about the atmosphere in Kochi

The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi is popular for its atmosphere when Kerala Blasters are playing, thanks to their fanbase – Manjappada. While the stadium is considered intimidating by some, Sergio Lobera, who is delighted to come away to Kerala, feels there is no extra pressure on his team. “It is amazing to play in Kerala. It is wonderful to play in this ground. I think all professionals work to play every match, at home or away, with this atmosphere, this stadium. For us, I think, it is important to feel the motivation to play in this circumstance,” Sergio Lobera quipped. “I don’t think it is more pressure for us and is difficult for us. As a coach, I want to play every match with the full stadium sold out and in this atmosphere,” he concluded.
