Langsning bounced back in style from their last match’s 1-0 loss to Malki FC as they beat newcomers Nongkrem FC by a margin of three goals to nil...
Skipper Kyrshan Lyngshing gave Langsning the lead in the 15th minute while Bickyson Kharkongor came off the bench to score a brace. Nongkrem FC started the match with more intent, passing the ball with high intensity but showed no real composure in front of goal and they rarely troubled the Langsning goalkeeper. Langsning FC, more patient in possession steadily grew into the game and broke the deadlock in the 15th minute when Seiboi Haokip’s corner found the skipper’s head who converted from close range to give Langsning the lead. They nearly doubled their lead in the half hour mark when Victor Shadap’s through ball released Kynsaibor Lhuid down the right flank with a clear sight of goal. Kynsaibor however hesitated and the chance was gone when he finally decided to shoot. Langsning, now with the goal advantage started seeing more of the ball but were careless in possession too as their defenders gave away the ball away cheaply once or twice to present Nongkrem FC with clear goal scoring opportunities. Nongkrem FC players however didn’t have their shooting boots on and failed to capitalise on these errors. Half time came and Langsning went in happy with lead while Nongkrem FC’s only consolation was the energetic and electric performance by their U-18 striker Nangseibor L. Nongbri who was playing up front. Langsning started the second half stronger as they looked to add to their one goal lead and would have got their second goal had Rostom Khriam not missed a penalty 5 minutes into the second half. Both team made changes but Langsning’s substitutions turned out to be managerial masterstrokes as substitute Ronnie Nongbri’s beautifully weighted cross was headed into the goal by fellow substitute Bisckyson Kharkongor in the 62nd minute. Nongkrem FC pressed on for a goal while Langsning were happy to sit back and hold on to their lead. The erroneous Langsning defence gave Evansius Mawthoh a chance to half the deficit in the 76th minute when he intercepted a weak back pass to go one on one with the Langsning goalkeeper. Evansius however made a mess of his shot as he fired it over the crossbar and it proved costly for Nongkrem FC as Bickyson scored his second goal just three minutes later giving Langsning an unprecedented 3-0 lead. Nongkhrem FC couldn’t come up with anything substantial to get back into the game or at least score a goal. Though Langsning FC looked vulnerable at the back at times they managed to keep a clean sheet and took all three points in what was a morale boosting victory for them and they will be looking to take this into their next game while newcomers Nongkrem FC who has lost their first two games in a row needs to live up to the standard of the Gionee Shillong Premier League or they will be battling relegation come the end of the season.Khel Now is your favorite sports app - Support your favorites by following and rating them - Find other sports fans like yourself on Khel Now - Share photos, videos, reviews and ratings today
