The Dutch tactician has a clause in his contract which will allow him to come to Camp Nou after Euro 2020.
The Netherlands National Football Team head coach Ronald Koeman has dismissed every claim linking him to FC Barcelona. The former Barcelona head coach has been in the news lately after a remarkable turn around of fortunes with the Dutch national side after having suffered a dark time when they failed to qualify for Euro 2016 and FIFA World Cup 2018. [KH_ADWORDS type="3" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] As a player, Koeman was a fan favourite who won 10 titles during his six-season stay at the club. The former Southampton manager has a clause in his contract that would allow him to leave the Netherlands for Camp Nou after Euro 2020. It is believed that should Ernesto Valverde leave the Catalan club, Koeman will be the favourite one to manage the team. "I have two more years left on my contract with the [Dutch] national team and I do not like to talk about Barcelona," Koeman said at an event in Barcelona. "It's uncomfortable for a lot of reasons; I currently have a job and it's not fair to talk about this. "If they come, they come; and if they don't, they don't. There are more important things [to worry about] in life." [KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News | ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS] In November 2019, Ronald Koeman insisted that he would not turn his back to Netherlands before Euro 2020. As he said, "Joining [Barcelona] is a possibility. But only after Euro 2020." "It's a bit strange to speak about the possibility of going to the club while you're the Netherlands coach." "There is no other side I would leave Netherlands for except for Barcelona," said Ronald who acted as Louis van Gaal's assistant from 1998 to 2000 at the club. The Netherlands are in Group C with Ukraine, Austria and a play-off winner. The Oranje are expected to go through to the Round of 16 from this group.Latest News
